Don't think Rice ever played for Celtic but another great player of that era was Bobby Russell at Rangers but he had to play under John Greig in a feckin useless H*** team against good Celtic , Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and Hearts teams.

Doesn't answer your question but I'm sure I remember Brian Rice playing for Falkirk and scoring an own goal against us with a diving header from outside the box.

Indeed he was AJ and the bellend Woland in another of his 'look at me posts'.

Aye. Seems Brian Rice never played for Celtic. He was facing jail in Qatar last year for unpaid debts. - view external link

You might be thinking of Pat McGinley although he was a few years later than Rice...Celtic signed him from Hibernian and he scored a fair few goals from midfield before going back to Easter Road.

Now it's finished Pogue, how did the Cheltenham festival go for you?

I came out down but not by much. For my first time betting on horses it wasn't to bad

Nah, somehow I had it in my heed that Rice had been a youth player at Celtic. Obviously wrongly.

I do remember him being a very silky player at hibs but too slow.
