I suppose the answer is that the manager is the one with the knowledge and experience, and therefore best placed to make decisions on player recruitment and team selection. The owner is just the bloke who stumps up the cash for him to do it. We've got an owner who's been a success in business, but many of his footballing decisions have been poor. Just because you're good at selling fridges doesn't mean you have an eye for a player.

Since you corroborated my post a few months back about Hendo going AWOL before that game which I knew to be a fact I believe that you have genuine inside info. So thank you for sharing.

I would be interested to know more about the signing of Rafik as its all very well Fawaz saying that he doesn't interfere but there is no way in hell that BD would have sought him.

We must not forget that Fawaz has already put a lot of money in to the club and continues to do so. Why should a manager be allowed to come in and spend millions of the owners money without him having a say.
Billy wanted Djebbour BUT he hasdn't a clue how to get the best out of him. Billy doesn't do strikers, he simply doesn't know how to accommodate them/get the best out of them. From what i have heard Fawaz didn't like the fact that BD was at him for ages to sign him then didn't play him much. Glad the useless, trouble causi

While that's hard to disagree with, as a totally unbiased (!!) outsider, it seems to me you are letting your owner off lightly. No-one would be surprised to learn that Billy Davies had his own personal agenda, but is he the only one? You had to read between the lines a bit to work out that interference from Fawaz was the reason that McCarthy turned down the job, but Warnock made it much clearer. It's blatantly obvious that your first choice managerial appointments are being missed because of Fawaz and the involvement he wants to have in playing matters.

Are you all happy with this?

Finally, if Billy was going to be sacked after the Derby game regardless of the

    Interesting read though.

However I do love the sheep and their sadpie mates saying "excellent post" though trying to stir the pot. I suppose it takes away the focus of your own promotion bottle job and impending relegation.
you may want to do a bit of investigation into the background of SBC prior to making that assumption, he is a very reliable source, I made that naive mistake once.

I can confirm 100% that Billy wanted to sign Djebbour.

He was approached by an agent called Konstantinos (Kostas) Taousanis who works for Global Sports Management, firstly with a DVD of his last 2 seasons in August and then, in person, at the club in early October.

His background checks all showed great movement and a keen eye for goal. Billy hoped that by signing a player who had played Champions League football he would be suitable should we get promoted and he hoped for an immediate impact due to his playing relationship with Abdoun.

He then added him to his list of targets in January after a deal for another striker collapsed at the 11th hour.

Malky or Zola seem to be the best choices.

    As a guess i would say yes[/quote]

The thing is, if you invited a fan into the room many of them would have said exactly the same. I want these two playing, from the start and given a run. They know how each other plays and, for God's sake, they have more talent than the imbeciles who have been playing.

Oh and I love the comment about Cox's swing missing. Hats off!

I bet he had two goes but his first was flagged offside.

very true to the point,, the reaper was coming for him...

the game were he got the ban, leicester i think, the pressure must of been on him for him to loose it in the tunnel at the ref/lines man, he must of been feeling some kind of pressure on him to snap...

using the ban as excuse to avoid all media in bid for them not to put the heat up on him.

must be a definite on owner and manger on talking fully with one another for a few weeks.

fawas meeting the fans again before the axe fell to gain fan feedback...

players fighting and arguing on and off pitch

it was stinking weeks before it played out!!!
