I get what you're saying Pol.
The question is, will we have to move?

Depends on the following
1. the money available. If there is a huge investment, then bank on it happening. If I was putting money up front, I'd want the ground to be worth looking at on a world stage and I'd want to own the land.
Doughty knew this and wanted to see it happen.
2. The money available. Promotion ASAP. If the funds appeared to assault the league, then that would start a stop watch. It would take time to build, as would promotion. You'd have to do both at the same time.

In the mean time we carry on. We'll be playing at the CG no matter what for now. If the funds come in. Then SP can look at his squad.
Fawaz can play with his new toy as they build it.
Folks forget how limited the stadium we have is for space. Building work is always a nightmare. The Trent end was bad enough. God knows how they'd cope with the main stand.
So forget about empty seats for now. There is ways round it. You have to have the vi

It isn't Notts training ground sad man. It's Arnold towns site, on which you pay rent for the privilege of using.
That's right, an amateur club in the East Midlands Counties league has better facilities than your club. Yet you're proud of that?

FFS that has to be the biggest own goal of the year.
An own goal is about the only one your lot will score

Another pointless post from the village idiot.
Run back to your board Soccer, there's a Forest frenzy going on. We're obviously a better subject to discuss than what your club has to offer.

Toodle pip.

Keep at the CG as it's the life blood of Your club. Do what we did and redevelop the ground in stages. We have a fab ground and I am proud still to be at Deepdale. You just have to do it on a larger scale.

Are we talking about renaming the existing ground or a complete new location ? For me the answer is no on both counts. By all means upgrade the City Ground and stay in the Trent Bridge area which to me is sacred, holy ground so to speak.
Fair comment Basil, though I'd love to hear how you'd achieve it. Given the loss of revenue, site space, tenancy agreement and the fact the Clough stand is now getting old as well.

Holy ground or not, we don't own it.
Also being of aged class, how long can you comfortably get around the ground? Do you foresee yourself in a chair open to the elements? In this day and age, it shouldn't happen.
I'll say again, MKD's was a pleasure to park my but

That's not as easy as it sounds, as we discovered. Say you give away 1,000 free tickets to kids. Half of them won't be interested in football, another group will be doing something else on a Saturday afternoon, of those that do pester their parents to take them, many will be put off by the high cost of their entry. If you do them both free, you risk losing out on the freebies going to people who might have paid anyway. The actual uptake is surprisingly small. I think the ridiculous cost of entry (at all levels) is the main thing that makes it difficult to attract new support. You often do 'kids for a quid' offers, which usually add a few thousand to the gate. The problem is they don't seem to come back next time at full price because the attendance is back to normal. Certainly the area to target, but much harder to get

To be honest, either works.

I think I would prefer to redevelop the City Ground but I suspect that is economcially and logistically infeasible.

We would be better to spend the money on a stadium with all mod cons, with a 40k capacity.
My 1st post on here since the new mods took over so I must be careful but what the hell do you need a 40k stadium for? do you just like plenty of leg room? Unlike many on here I was around & although I hate to admit it actually attended some of your games(only when the Super Pies didn't have a game or were playing in the middle of nowhere)when you were good & unless my memory fails me (it was along time ago)you couldn't attract that sort of gate then.
