Yup,voted best centre half never to have played for Scotland. Made his debut in 1951 replacing Horace Gager. In fact in a period of well over twenty years Forest until Brian Clough arrived had only three main centre halves,Horace Gager, Bobby McKinlay and Sammy Chapman. They've got more than that on their current injury list.Originally Posted by Elite_Pie
Daft thinking about it now but I joined the Sammy Chapman fan club...He ended up at my other club, Shrewsbury Town, way past his best but still a force to be reckoned with.

SP has strengthened at the back (logical for an ex-defender and a good foundation), even if we were to lose Lascelles.
Midfield also looks close to being settled.
That leaves the attack. Who's gonna be his preferred choices. There seems a need for 1 more acquisition maybe even 2.
And just to make sure, Darlow to stay, he says he doesn't want to go to a big club just to be a reserve, well we'll know for sure in a month's time if it's true. But honestly I don't blame him, the pull of a club like Liverpool or Spurs is huge for a player that was playing 3rd tier barely 18 months ago.

I didn't forget him, I just thought that Brecks went without saying!
It was thinking of Breckinbauer that lead me think of the lesser German player Id.
