What is factual becasue the treasury had to concede it in a tabled question, during the lifetime of the tory government from 1979 to 1997 Scotland lost £27 billion net revenue. The City of London done mighty well.

"Mr William Waldegrave, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, has been forced to concede figures in Commons questioning in recent months, which show that if Scotland's share of North Sea revenues had been allocated since 1979, then the net flow in favour of the Treasury from north of the Border ran to #27bn" - [url=www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/aberdeen/figures-explod

london is the number one region in the uk and brings in vastly more money to the uk economy than scotland which is in 3rd place just behind the south east, the scottish government will more than likely get additional powers and money after the no vote in an attempt to stave off further independence referendums

ally, apply the same rules to yourself as you do other posters, eh, do some research. The Scottish budget will be getting cut, by a significant amount, and there will be no extra powers, don't kid yourself on.

I will tell you exactly what will happen we will get some not particularly significant extra powers. One of the reason why they are pushing the income tax one is it will give them an excuse to cut the money that comes to Scotland. After all we have given you the opportunity to raise you own taxes.

Meanwhile the oil revenues will still flow in to Westminister. If they were serious about given us financial power they would devolve our share of oil revenues. Of course they wont do that. Check the reaction in parliament when this was asked. - view external link

Scotland produced a £27 billion surplus from 1979 to 1997. We then had to pay interest on UK debts from loans we wouldn't have needed. As for more recent times our deficit has been at the UK average
