Very sketchy memories - so long ago but I do remember frogmen displays in a flooded dry dock just to the right as you went in the main dockyard gates.

Coaches and trains flocked South to view the ships and meet the men. Meanwhile the Pubs etc outside the dockyard, there were a lot more in those days, cashed in greatly. Talking of divers was it Buster Crabb per chance ?

Bloody hell I used to worship Commander Crabb. Saw a film about him around that time and that was what I wanted to be. A muff diver.
