49% is not half the population.

[quote="neilo"]I am having gut wrenching feelings of rue entering into a conversation with someone who cannot see how dumb it is saying that if more than half vote for something they should not have it because it wasnt what the less than half wanted. I mean no offence tat is just incredibly dumb. Och Im such an agreessive Yes voter

I think no will win. Most people are scared of what might happen. Now if I say most people are scared you say ahh scare****ering, and I say 40 years of lies and scare****ering, you say ahhh but every finance person says independence is bad, ahhhh thats a total lie and on and on it goes. Hard to understand why voters on both sides cant accept the other sides position and argue their points without trying to ram their opinion down each others' throats. You are to NO what stewarty is to yes - and you are by far the most concerned/excitable/obsessed non Scot I have come across anywhere on

4 million people are voting on the future of 60 million people. That's not democracy.

    Jesus christ.

So the planed Uk referendum is not democracy as that will be the UK affecting all of Europe. In fact all previous Euro in/out referendums countries have held have, in your considered opinion being undemocratic for the same reason - they affect much more people than those who vote in them.

Or is it only when it comes to Scotland you think it's so undemocratic?

"If it's a NO vote then no ones lives will be disrupted, business as usual.

If it's a YES vote (it won't be) then nearly half the population will have their lives changed against their will."

whatever the outcome of the vote that will be what the majority voted for. If they voted for change - thats the vote. If they vote for no change (that is not an option incidentally) thats the vote.

If you have a vote asking people if they want change why is it fair to say to them that they cant have that if the majority vote for it?

"Perhaps you weren't one of the ones going on about rangers etc but you certainly haven't dropped the Norn Iron thing since I've first came on. Even bringing up the issuesu we had with Roma gypsies. Lol"

Your racist views on gypsies are entirely relevant given the irony of you complaingn about incomers to OUR wee country when you are one yourself. But hey, if you want to bleat and cry about nasty people talking about rangers, carry on. It's on a similar leve

"You don't seem concerned that you would change the lives of nearly half the population against their wishes, madness!!

First past the post for something like this is seriously unethical...

I'm still holding my 62% NO prediction, looking forward to coming back on here next week to show that it was me who was in tune with the people of Scotland. "

    * This is typical of the NO "logic". If it's a YES vote it's "madness" and "unethical" to impose the will of a slight majority over the slight minority. But see if it's a NO vote - then that's just the people coming to their senses.
