Do we recall eustace do we go 4-4-2.
I really do think its a problem
russell excellent tonight hendrick average, hughes very good so what is the answer.
Wolves will be a bigger test big worry for me.
Bad goals conceded again im sorry but mascarell is not as good as JE they just run pass him we need to break the play up he simply does not do that.

    Any views.
Spot on Rich. Mascarell is dainty, swift but like wet blotting paper in the tackle.
Bring back Eustace the iron girder.. [/quote]

[b]Were you at the game tonight Ella I'm really surprised by your comments regardi

Got to agree with Ella on this one.
Viewed in isolation, Mascarell played well. He moves quickly, with and without the ball, he made some cracking passes and one of his tackles at a critical point was superb.
But the we we opened for their first goal and on other occasions was frightening. They could easily have scored more goals.
With Mascarell as CDM we were defensively fragile.

Mac was saving Eustace for Saturday, hopefully.

I know it's a game of opinions but it's been a long time since I've seen football fans so divided in opinion - it's like 2 complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

take last night. most of the things omar did he did well. it's more to do with what he doesn't do that's I've got a problem with. which obviously is hard to judge for some people as a lot of fans will judge him on what he does do with the ball.

That Sir, is spot-on. For their first goal our defence was like a tin-can meeting a Swiss Army knife, we were sliced open in a jiffy. We did not have that girder-like strength across the back at all.

Absolutely. We were forced to play so deep last night with Mascarell sweeping up across the 20-22yard area, and pinging balls sideways from there. He does look elegant on the ball {he's Spanish after all} but he lacks any steel and bite. And Shotton just has no presence. And did you notice that Chris Martin played very deep too because the whole team was forced to come and get the ball much deeper?

Bring back Eustace, and Buxton for Wolves and note the difference. Wolves will be a very tough game because they play f

Spot on Rapid, I've never seen anything like it. It boils down to added creativity vs. added steel. Some clearly think we weren't playing that well without him in the last few games, others think we're soft with him in the team.

The funny thing is, it will all mean so little by the time Thorne returns.

Omar is more comfortable in possession than Eustace and has a better range of passing and therefore is more comfortable bringing the ball out of defence and linking play, a problem for us recently.

However if he was a bit taller, wider and stronger he would be the complete midfielder... George Thorne!

Absolutely D_D because Thorne has both the physical Umph! that CDM's need as well as the vision and skill to be the catalyst for attack. Mascarell has the dainty feet
