    re: Playing a Settled Side

Personally I thought Roos was hard done by but thought MAC knew something we didn't and brought in an England U21 Intl... No problem either, it's tough out there.

Butland was excellent against Blackpool and has made some really good stops, Roos's distribution is much better than Butland. 6 of 1...

Grant.. Never saw much between Grant and Roos to be honest.. Was not fussed either way really which is great.

Bear has a point though.. Why bring someone in for a few weeks when there is nothing between all three?
Schteve has some answering to do.

For me now, right this minute.. Roos starts and Grant has to wait to get back in.

Im with Bear on this and I think it illustrates this Grant being out and a suitable replacement hasnt been sourced just inferior. Odd really as Bear was told by Rush last week one of the reasons Clough was gotten rid of was because of 'aquisitions' was it you posted about the forum?

No, can you an acquisition of McClarens that has completely failed to deliver on the pitch? With the exception of Best (who frankly has not had enough game time to judge) there isn't one, Butland is a very good keeper, hasnt had game time but has actually made saves that have kept us in the game, his kicking does not compare with Grants but on shot stopping and positional sense he is better.

What has been noticeable is that 6 game clean sheet run we went o

[quote="Bear DCFC"]some very unreasonable criticism of butland. he kept us in the game at blackpool and made a couple of smart saves on Tuesday night. I can't actually remember him making any mistakes, correct me if I'm wrong?

because of the way we play I think it's his kicking that people have been disappointed with.

if 2 new centre halves play with each other for the first time then people always give them some slack as they have to 'build and understanding' with one another. I don't see how the goalkeeper is that different. commanding the box isn't just a skill it's also an understanding with your defenders. take grant for example, there used to be mix ups with Keogh almost every week at the start of last season, now days that almost never happens.

great point on eric steele D_D. I think he's played a huge role in improving grant's game and credit to grant for sorting himself out. as has been said though I

It's just not possible to play the same side until the international fixtures stop from next month to March, plus you are still in the League Cup.

McClaren has to balance all the factors. You have midweek games almost every week. Plus this is a top turvy league anybody can beat anybody.

(And before you start with Forest, I'm aware everybody is beating us).
