Just had a look at the cast list for post production champs and it looks fantastic I really hope they can do justice to a truly classic series which was pure comedy genius.
Looks okay doesn't it Milly. A decent cast to add to it aswell. I do wonder if the actors are going to be doing impressions of the original actors playing the characters, or playing the characters themselves?
I do see your worry Despair, I also recall that Likely Lads remake. This appears to have a touch of class to it, as reflected in the actors they have in. And it's a classic British comedy we need to be precious about, as it's one of our best.

Thing is guys...touching on a very, very current and touchy subject:

We in our free society have the ability to laugh at ourselves and poke fun, without any general real offence, or prejudice being decried (apart from some liberalistic cranks that is).
If only all others could behave and live in such a way, how much more pleasant and safe would the world be ???

champs, we got our very own version of "constable Crabtree" on this board he's called Juninho, It's easier to decipher what Crabtree is saying than some of Juninho's ramblings
I also agree with champs however I feel we as a team would benefit more reverting back to 4-5-1
Rhodes scores more from it(even if he looks lost for most of it)and with the option of a defensive midfielder adds stability to a fragile defence
I also fully agree with Dunn a crucial player ruined by 5 minute cameos start with or as you say a last 30 surge.
The youth who have returned really need to be utilised soon or lose real talent for nothing o Connell is a prime example rave reviews when he has gone out on loan is he seriously any worse than the couple of carthorses we usually play
When you look through our reserves there is massive hope in the future but if not used as you say for even for the 5 minutes here and there they will stagnate and disappear.
I will just add on the manager front even though most of us want bowyer to succeed but as a team we are nothing more than mid table on curre

Saxo, to be fair it was all over the moment the football geniuses from Pune listened to their so called professional advice and sacked Big Sam.

They only need to look where he is now to see what a fatal judgement call that was as well as cold shouldering the stable stewards in the Boardroom. The question then was could we have a controlled descent into mediocrity or free fall into the abyss.

As their track record shows the owners chose the latter and fell from grace spectacularly with many a good riddance on the way down from our greatest rivals which still continues to this day.

The reality is now that we are about where we were in the 1970's. All the talent wants to leave, no money , and no Arte et Labore.

We await the appointment of the next Ken Furphy who started the reversal last time round. The thing was Bancroft knew something about football and could make a sound judgement, this time that is nowhere to be seen.

For the forseeable future we will be a League 1 and possible

And if we do, then go for Gareth Ainsworth. Doing a great job, a local lad, a rovers fan, young, enthusiastic and will do for us, what Rowet and Lennon are doing for Brum & Bolton. Both unfancied prior to taking over.

We might be struggling to get Ainsworth Champs..the lad has just signed a new 5 and half year new deal with Wycombe..obviously trying to tie up their asset in case clubs come a calling ..

Thats a pity as he ticked all the boxes. I do like Swindon's manager too. But there aren't many around who would add to what we are trying to do. Keith Hill is doing very well again at Rochdale. But he's already proved he can't cut it at Barnsley. He has Rovers links, but I don't think he would do anything. If we did try again, I really do think it needs to be someone of Ainsworths ilk. We need young, professional, enthusiastic. And someone who has passion for the club.

I know what you mean mate, part of me wants to believe Jun is taking the piss, and has just kept in character all this time. Meaning he'd be the greatest poster of all time!! Somet tells me he ain't that smart!!
