If the red card is rescinded i think the FA will leave it at that.

Sadly, Gav', I think you're right. If the F.A. had any cajones they would use the Forestieri-Sako incident as a damning example of
blatant simulation and say "Enough is enough".
It may well be deemed 'part of the game' by some, but we all know that is just a 'get out' excuse by those who have no real concern for the future welfare of the game. As Wolfiebill reminds us, the F.A. has the power to act on this - why not use it? Failure to do so simply gives the 'green light' for Forestieri and his ilk to further offend without fear of retribution. The whole thing has become a joke !!!

    It's cheating plain and simple.

I don't care how many players believe it's part of the game or the journalists and broadcasters who accepted it as such, nowhere in the rule book does it say that cheating is allowed!

I also think this retrospective nonsense is bollox. I don't care if the ref is deemed to have seen it and acted, if he hasn't acted properly overrule him regardless.

Change the laws and make all forms of cheating an instant red card, if a red card is subsequently shown to be the wrong decision then overturn it. Simples!

It's too easy a way out for the respective league boards as it is now, too much paperwork I suppose, or more likely they don't want to upset the prima donna superstars that grace their precious Premier League!

In reality dealing with this is easy, and it isn't one of those cases where its been going on for too long to do something about it, ban them and make it long. Fines are useless but long bans, say 5 games to start with, will start to hurt.

    Imo

If Sako's red card is not rescinded it will prove that the whole system is corrupt. It would be completely unacceptable to allow a punishment to stand for an offence that quite clearly did not happen.

Agree Plates, any form of cheating ,instant red card. You hear ex pros on TV commentaries saying he's taken one for the team.OK so now take an early bath for the team, cheat. It will be interesting to see what the FA do to Forestieri ,whatever they do to Sako, or will they think a yellow card is sufficient. If that is the case I intend to write to the main man at the FA and ask why they condone cheating.

    Loved Troy Deeney's comments:

“I am all the way on the other side of the pitch. You know me, I never see anything,” Deeney initially stated.
However, he continued: “All I can say on the matter is that if the lad doesn’t put his hands on his (Forestieri’s) face then he doesn’t go down."

Only missing a few ***** words at the end:

    "unless he's a cheat!"

I'm glad the red card Sako received has been rescinded, but still can't get over the antics of Forestieri.

If nothing has been done to Forestieri then I will be writing to the Football League and if enough do it just maybe they may take notice of the fans for once, but don't hold your breath.

    Chelsea against PSG.

Perfect examples of all the above.
