I'm all for the expansion if it is to generate more revenue for the club...Tony stewart is a businessman and knows what is and isn't realistically achievable...it's not all about football games ..the stadium could be used to host concerts...open air boxing bouts anything if you put your mind to it and it's promoted in the correct way...

The AESSEAL NYS Stadium is almost brand new and has easy access from the motorway...we've already had U19's internationals...England V Canada women football games so if the stadium was enlarged think of the possibility to host other English U17, 19, 21 23 games...the list is endless...but you need larger stadium to do this..

Also he's surely now realised that in order to be successful in the Championship the wage structure will have to be broken to entice a better quality player to sign for us and that money has to come from somewhere...

What I remember about the Hughes years GM was that there were 20513 against Weds, 18142 against Barnsley and 16905 against Newcastle but there was 5500 vs Orient/Cambridge 6000 vs Grimsby/Wrexham etc.
I think most will remember the big games so it seemed more. As I suspected, the last time we averaged over 10k was the year Tommy Docherty was manager. Its pretty impressive when you think about it, especially given we were at DVS just a few years ago.

if we stop up then expand to 16K, i know people who haven't come to games as can't sit near friends, if more seats were available at the back of the north stand, then not only will sell more single tickets but also season tickets, as this is the cheapest stand.

Also, gives a good opportunity for some of the existing season ticket holders to move and create a larger central group of singers at the back of the north stand.

10,500 tickets sold to Rotherham fans is very impressive by historic standards - all of the big gates quoted above relied on strong local away support.
I remember 16,000 v Villa and three quarters of the ground erupting when Villa scored - also when Keegan came and scored 4 - the Tivoli was packed until the Newcastle fans streamed out and walked down the side of the pitch to the railway end.
Rose tinted glasses on attendances unless you go back to the 50's.
So expansion - room for 2000 more in home end would release more for away supporters for local derbies and give more freedom of seats encouraging higher attendance - tempting to put more on away end but will only sell on a couple of occasions and can always extend round the sides if a big away following is expected if we have extended home kop.
In the end Tony will decide cos he knows best - he has the figures and the acumen - he doesn't waste money - he will make a wise choice - 16,000 would be nice though wouldn't it and 20,000 fo

Sunny as ever, Brin. All my roses are out and the bougainvillea is flaming. Back to shorts and flip flops rather than shorts and trainers now that winters over!
