Just love these wiki pasting battles.

I find it totally amazing that nations such as China, India, Australia and the USA seem to do ok without being members of a European club.

It is nice to have the variety of laws offered by different States of the Union. I'm only ever a short drive away from being able to legally smoke a joint, gamble, have *** with my wife in the position I'd prefer or even marry a man if the fancy takes me.

haha, reasoned debate has never been your strong suit.

India has an average income of around £1k per year, China is better off but not much.
Australia is uniquely located among Western nations in its ability to serve its region.
And the US is effectively in the process of joining the EU through the TTIP, which if we leave the EU they have warned we will not be a part of.

The link doesn't work when I copy and paste it...

but let's not be linking to articles, if its such a big issue you should be able specific laws that you don't agree with and how they affect your daily life in a way they wouldn't if we left the EU, and that you haven't only just learned existed after Googling an article to validate your faux outrage.[/quote]

John, sorry I couldn't post the link without the gap between the / and the 4 as it's over the permitted 84 characters allowed for a word on MM, close the gap and it's genuine.

OK, I've seen it... and it doesn't really mention specific laws.

But seriously, even with the benefit of Googling why you're outraged... can you a law you're so upset about that you want us to leave the world's largest economic trading bloc, and how it affects your daily life in a way it wouldn't if we left?

I laid down this gauntlet to everyone yesterday and am still waiting...

    Exactly,

I live and work in Sweden.

Oficially I can only stay working here whilever the UK is in the EU. Otherwise I have to come home and watch the Millers.

There are many reasons why we want to leave the EU including restoring our freedom and democracy; our legal system; our fishing; farming; the right to negotiate our own trading agreements; and jobs.

None of these involve ceasing trading relations with the EU. The single market, or to give it its correct title the internal market does not come to us through the EU it comes through the European Economic Area (EEA) which is a completely different organisation.

It is true to say that we are members of the EEA through our membership of the EU but there are other countries, notably Norway, Switzerland and Iceland that are members of the EEA and are therefore in the single market but not in the EU. Croatia, which is in the EU but not the EEA is not in the single market.

We could therefore renounce our membership of the EU but stay in the European Economic Area which means we would be out of the EU but still in the single market.

Indeed there would have to be an arrangement like that becau

So you are going to explain why gm should be upset by this 'EU law change'?

From what I know gm (or his wife) is an on line retailer. He should welcome this EU intervention (if you read the full article the EU has reduced the commission retailers pay to credit card companies for use of their service). The headline suggests the card
