When the English national team play the anthem is GSTQ. The Baggies play in England. So, I am prepared to be enlightened - what do you think the English National Anthem is?

"England has no official national anthem of its own; "God Save The Queen" is treated as the English national anthem when England is represented at sporting events (though there are some exceptions to this rule, such as cricket where Jerusalem is used

James McClean has explained his reasons behind not having a poppy on his shirt from his time at Wigan.

In this incident, he could easily have stood away from the other ten players lining up to observe both anthems, but he stayed. He turned to his side and bowed his head down. It's up to him, but upon signing for albion, this is what the fans and club will have to get used to. McClean has his own mind. I'm actually glad the anthem isn't played over here before league games.

I don't recognise GSTQ and never will. It doesn't represent me. I ignore it before an England game.

    Good post '71.

Would we recognise La Marseillaise today if France had invaded us and made the Midlands region part of France all those years ago?

I think Baggies and Wolves fans are all singing from the same hymnsheet on this. Let's face we all resent the ridiculous amounts these guys pick up. The very LEAST we can expect that McLean does not openly disrespect the flag and anthem of the country who is paying him such massive money. If he wants to make a point play in the League of Ireland.
Looks like we have another Anelka.

Or Deutchland Uber Alles back in 1914/18 and 1939/45 when some of his fore Fathers fought and died so that he could make his 'Protest' without reprocussion.

I've always wondered what I'd do in a Court of law here (when asked to swear) as I have no allegience to Our Monarchy and am an Atheist.
