Wells is a good player but the issue is this
with him and any other player we go for
we will be overpriced due to the 9 million plus burning a hole in our pocket.

    Feel sorry for GB ??

GB had a 40 plus goals striking duo in Rhodes and Gestede goals were the last thing he should have been worried about.

Well time to move on if Rhodes has gone.Hope we dont do a panic buy in the next couple of days.

Just get to summer and then hopefully PL will be allowed splash a lil cash and strengthen that midfield up for a starters .

Its interesting to see a 'oh hum' type of reaction to the departure of JR, on here at least and up to now. I expected a more 'we're doomed' one.
When all said and done they've pretty much got their money back on him (with a small amount of pocket money on the side). The big winners here are Hudds, 8 + 200-600k, whilst paying zilch wages in the interim. Makes our lot seem street corner traders.
Anyhow it's done now and it seems they have 'taken the money' (in panic?) while the takings good.
Hope the crowd don't embarrass themselves yet again when he returns, to do his job for his new club.

As for PL getting anywhere near 2 or 3 m of that 'return?', I have yet to be surprised.
Having said that, as said earlier, are we going to see any inkling of a 'going for it' by Venkys.
I await with anticipation. I just hope, if they do, I can enjoy seeing a more all rounded striker doing their stuff. No disrespect to JR there, he was a great goal poacher.

Well said. Also not to forget well lose JRs high wages. I just hope we dont give a ridiculous high-money contract to serious non-scorers like Danny Graham! Nahki Wells isnt remotely good enough to replace Rhodes IMHO.

I just hope PL has a good scouting set-up-havent been encouraged by what ive seen so far but early days.Dont forget Steve Bruce got Hull City promoted with a leading scorer of 7 goals last time so maybe with all-out defence, hoofball and lots of timewasting we can find different ways to win football matches. We might need to.

Do you really think the Venks are going to invest in the team.
Lambert was brought in for a sh1t or bust attempt at promotion and now thats gone.

Really? This season? Why give him a 2 and half year contract? Concentrate on your own shower pal, as only make the play offs, then anything goes and you could remain stuck down here with us.

The S or B ticket (for this season) was GB's, and he paid the price.
PL's IMO is season 2016/17, and likewise if he fails he will be jettisoned, then we can brace for admin IMO.
Given PL's recent 'form' (prior to here with us), I cannot see him taking on an impossible challenge to further damage it.
A plausible one, yes why not, in my eyes he's got nothing to lose.
His paymasters this time are Venkys, need I say more. (even Joses' steered clear )

I never quite get the logic of that, Howie. Wasn't Bowyer managing Rhodes and Gestede too?
Why do people make it sound as if the players who did well were nothing to do with him, whereas any poor performance by a player was the direct result of poor management by Bowyer?
Surely you can't have it both ways?

They don't Aucks. I can see what Howie's saying here. It's about having the right set of players together and getting the team right. If you have 2 20+ goals a season strikers and you can't even knock on the back door of the top 6, there's an issue to be sorted out.
