What's the latest news? Any more rumours circulating?
It hardly seems credible that Rhodes will simply pick up the pieces and just go on playing for Rovers, given what's been said!

It has to go through I think aucks. There has to be compromise somewhere and i think rovers will be the losers in this.

Jesting aside,Rhodes position has become untenable and the only way forward for him is to leave your club.

If the stories on brfcs are to be believed the greed of Rhodes/or his agent is astounding.

Even our strange owners surely wouldn't go down that road, Robin, but you do wonder if JR's agent isn't still negotiating quietly in the background.
What is Rhodes on at Ewood? Did someone say 40,000 a week? Presumably, Boro offered more. What do these blokes want!
Actually, I've just looked it up. The figure given for 2015 is 42,308. That's 2.2 million a year. Even at the highest tax-rate, he's going to be worth several million when he retires. They use the notion of footballers' short careers to justify this nonsense, but he has earned more in the last year or so than I did in my whole career.
I find it hard to feel sorry for him because Boro wouldn't cough up an extra sum a week that would amount to many people's annual income.
I wonder why I follow football sometimes.

Sorry, WY. I hadn't seen your post when I wrote my reply to Robin.
    Totally agree.

To blame Rhodes for this is outrageous, his agent is just playing hardball to get more money.

Middlesboroughs behaviour is disgraceful -and they came in with their "offer"(?) right at the last minute when we have no time for a replacement - they have replaced Burnley as the team i dislike most in this league.......trying to get a quality player on the cheap.

Totally agree with Robin - dont rebuild next season, take Rhodes back instead.

I hope Burnley get promoted and Middlesborough stay in the Championship instead.
