    I've got a mate who's a manager/coach at a decent level and has done all of his badges. He says that they teach you to almost create a 'character' different to yourself and is how the players and fans see you.

    I think the problem with this is that current crop of British coaches seem to get more hung up on doing this rather than making sure they're just doing their job well. Take a look at Wassall's TV and Radio interviews - he seems more bothered about thinking about saying what he SHOULD say rather than just speaking the truth. I thought Clement often spoke reasonably in interviews but Wassall and McClaren seem to disrespect fans by talking down to them as if they aren't on their level and using double-talk to try and avoid questions in a similar way to politicians. They seem to forget that football fans aren't daft and that although they might not have played the game at a high level, the amount of football that they've watched means that they do understand a great deal about foo
