I want all of the home countries to do well...

until I heard eau Sauvage's ranting and raving after the match last night and having the obligatory pop at England. I think it escaped his notice that as the "biggest" country in the group the other teams would shut up shop against us and open up against the other teams they thought they could get a win from. Not making excuses just stating a fact. We should have been able to break those teams down and could easily lost after that Smalling/Hart feckup. The biggest disappointment is that I am constantly suprised by our ineptitude.

Can't argue with that at all Corks. When I returned to my glorified tin shed after the match, I burst in and located the carving knife in the cutlery draw. L was concerned as to my intentions but there was no need to panic. All was revealed as I hacked at the twine, which had held my fluttering England flags up since before the Russia game.

That's the spirit LdB. Haven't been able to get my flag down (ooh er) quickly enough off the garage in past disasters. I once flew the red cardinal of Virginia flag we got on holiday, in one tournament just for a laugh and the bloke next door went apeshît because he thought it was the Portuguese flag.

I would like to see Judas Floppychops as the next manager. Think he has got a couple of years left and at least it would be exciting and fun.

It most definitely does not.... nothing warped about Corky's Ronaldo observations with which I concur 100%

Some of his radio comments on the next England manager yesterday were quite amusing for me.

Not one good word to say about the F.A. (no surprise as they won't employ him). He has "not a lot of faith in the F.A making the right decision". He doesn't rate Southgate, "great lad but what has he done ? only won a second rate u21 tournament". Hoddle "great coach, would have come up with a system if he had been in charge". Big Sam or Bruce, "proven managers at the top level, seen it, done it, fantastic". "Why should Southgate get it in front of them" ? Then he threw in the name of Tim Sherwood, "He's got passion and enthusiasm, young and enthusiastic, knows the game". "I'll come and work with him every day". Sandra would probably love that too

But he played down suggestions he might finally get the England job after missing out to Hodgson in 2012.

"It was a long time ago I was one of the favourites," said the former QPR, Tottenham, Portsmouth and West Ham boss.

"I don't fit. I would love to manage England, but I'm a realistic person and I realise I've got absolutely no chance."

    Correct 'Arry, No chance.

I did watch it Southerndayne and probably enjoyed it more than any other game I have seen so far. Which says a lot about either the quality of football so far or my taste in football.
