You know damned well that comment is aimed at politicians in general.
What happened to Jo Cox was tragic, but do resort to a cheap tricks to bring her death into the context of the comment I made.
The quotation you say is a tediously trite old line is not taken from any previous quotation from anyone else as far as I am aware, so I am not sure how you can say that.
I am not going to argue with you my friend. You have your views and I have mine, so lets agree to disagree. I will not stoop so low as to saying you have a stunning level of ignorance.![]()
I'm sure the houses of parliament has a mix of the good, the bad and the ugly, their misdeeds are often amplified by their profile in society, and (to quote from 'The Thick Of It' again) there are few amongst us with clean hands. whenever I'm tempted to call someone for dishonesty, I always have a think about the last time I asked a tradesman how much he'd charge for cash....
Controversially, I also wonder what the outpouring of grief had been if the victim had been Joe Cox, a late 50's MP with thinning hair and an ill-fitting suit

But would you ask a 'tradesman' such a thing if you didn't believe that such a culture was working its way down from the top Andy?
As for the 'controversial' bit...I think Jo Cox sounds like a very decent human being and I'd like to think that the 'grief' would have been at the same level for any decent human being regardless of gender, age and looks etc, but I do honestly believe that the majority of our MP's are a pretty mediocre and lacklustre bunch at best, and the recent behaviour of the likes of Gove, Johnson, Duncan Smith, Farage, Leadstrom, Eagle and Corbyn has done little to persuade me otherwise.
Corbyn is un -electable.
To get elected, he has to appeal to a majority. Unfortunately, when folks see him stood on CND platforms, sucking up to despots and terrorists, willing to sell Falklands down the river, his antisemitism stance, his wanting to sell NI down the river, dismantling of NATO, dismantling of our arms industry makes folks, VERY, VERY, NERVOUS.
Except Basie, who holds an offensive T-shirt license, lol
No way would the UK population roll over to flower powers ideals.
They're his ideals and good luck with them. This plank is blocking this country from having a viable opposition to the Tories.
He should go and join the Greens etc.
I didn't want to leave the EU and I don't especially want May running the country.
However, we voted to leave and May is moving into No. 10 - and I actually think she's the best option out of the bunch that were available. For one horrible moment, the reality of Johnson and Trump being in office on opposite sides of the pond looked unbelievably nearer. At least the baffoon is out the way.
What this country needs now is some stability in government. Sterling and the stock market needs time to recover, or atleast show signs of recovering but what the markets hate the most is uncertainty and that's been the double whammy that has added to the fallout from the referendum vote.
May is lots of things, I'm no huge fan, but she's a tough cookie and probably the best placed at this time to get article 50 instigated and the negotiations rolling so things can begin to settle down.
There'll be time for a general election much later but the further chaos and uncertainty that one would bring now would be disasterous. And as has already been mentioned, the opposition need to sort themselves out first.
