I am not expecting to beat Rangers at Ibrox but we have been in far worse situations in the past trying to do so. Play ourselves into the game , keep it tight for 20 minutes and watch the home crowd get restless. You never know.

JRS, let me take you back to season 1952/53, long before you were born, when Queens were still playing in the top tier of Scottish football. Unbelievably, Queens were leading the table as 1952 came to an end, having beaten at Palmerston on the way there Celtic, Hearts, Hibs and Rangers. I recall being at Douglas Park when we outclassed Hamilton 5-0 and I well remember a Hamilton fan (no segregation in those days) telling my father that Queens were the best team he had seen that season. The fans were beginning to believe that Queens might actually win the league. Our Chairman, Willie Boyd, who was an associate of my father, offered a reward if the team could, in fact, win the league. We were riding high and then came the but....... but into the New Year we collapsed and finished tenth - we didn't even make the top half of the table. Of course it was thrilling while it lasted: of course it was thrilling to watch my team beat the mighty Celtic and Rangers as well as Hearts and Hibs and here is another but.......but we won nothing, nowt, zilch, zero which is why I say to you enjoy the moment but don't get carried away. As I posted above, after seventy years of watching Queens I have seen too many false dawns which is why I wait until the fish is in the basket before I celebrate. I think I do know about Tuesday night and I suspect that you do too, so we'll leave it at that.

Find this valuable for an elderly Queens fan in you to pass these memories on to a middle age one in me and the rest of us on the mad site. Do you mind if I ask what age you are ?

I see on Official site that sales for Castle Greyskull have been '' steady '' but Queens will not need more than the usual 1,000 handed out to clubs by Rangers. Hopefuuly a late uptake will get our support at least up into the high 100s.

We took over 1,500 fans to Ibrox for a midweek cup fixture back in 2012 yet here we are and we've only sold approximately 450 tickets despite our fantastic start to the season . Really hope there's plenty more sold before the game , especially at the weekend when Queens are at home

I am referring to adult admission costs: £16 for the home game against Raith Rovers on Saturday 17th followed by £16 for the home game against Hibs on Saturday 24th and a bargain at an inclusive price of £25 (according to aloreburn) for a mid-week cup tie against Rangers in between. Total cost, exclusive of any peripheral expenses, £57. Are you really surprised that ticket sales are slow?
