Unfortunately Stephen Dobbie's form has dipped alarmingly and the rest of the team simply are not good enough to compensate. I still think that we should beat Alloa in the Wee Diddy Cup next week but I have no confidence that we'll get a result against Hibs: in fact, I fear another heavy defeat. Not only have we now dropped out of the top four we have dropped into the bottom half of the table. I suggest to you that that is about right.

After our first 8 league games we had conceded 4 goals and had kept 4 clean sheets so the defence deserved some credit not just Stephen Dobbie . God only knows what's happened after that , we can't put it all down to injuries......

.....and in our last eight games we have conceded 16 goals so what does that say about the defence? Perhaps in my post above I should have given some credit to Lee Robinson who also contributed to our early points accumulation but I still insist that the explanation for "what has gone wrong?" is that overall we are just not very good.

We are certainly in dire straits and as in our match headline we are on a race to the bottom ....

On a side note I have to say I along with others sitting near me were absolutely disgusted with the language and behaviour coming from the so called " Queens legend " Jim Thomson today . That son was completely unacceptable . Just who is running the show from the bench ? Remind me again who's the manager ?

He should not be anywhere near the bench but should be back up out the way in the hospitality suite . I wouldn't be surprised if our current lack of form is partly down to him . Feel free to shoot me down but I'm entitled to an opinion , one that was shared by many of us during and after the game
I thought Big Jim was the assistant manager so he has every right to be on the bench with his manager like almost every other club in the universe. As for the bad language I have heard a lot worse from assistant managers/coaches of visiting clubs. If it was that bad why was he not reported to the referee by the linesman ? We are going thru a bad spell and there is a temptation by some to single out scapegoats and to suggest that our current lack of form is down to Big Jim is ridiculous.

If you honestly think his behaviour yesterday was acceptable then I'm affraid things will only get worse . Whilst the manager was encouraging players he was belittling them and making matters worse .
There's a bad egg in camp , maybe the two boys at Falkirk were correct after all

I feel for Skelton as it sounds he's being overruled by A.N.other

Too many cooks spoil the broth and Queens need an assistant manager who knows what he's talking about and isn't a bully IMO

I thought United's midfield were excellent throughout. In possession their passing and movement was way sharper than ours and they worked hard, when they didn't have the ball, to make our midfield look poor. Although Hammil got a roasting in the second half at Tannadice, we missed his attacking threat and crosses yesterday. The last four or five games have certainly shown that we are not a one man team; in other words Dobbie can't do it all on his own.
Like others have said, I hope the cup game will give us the chance to get some confidence back into our game. However, Alloa are going great guns and must be playing with confidence themselves.

Sometimes you can encourage people as much as you can, but a good kick up the ar*e comes in handy at times. Something that is wrong in general in todays society as everyone is scared of upsetting the PC brigade. I'm far from advocating bullying but sometimes a few home truths when they are playing cr*p doesn't hurt.

I'd agree with another post here where Dobbie just isn't getting the time on the ball to work his magic and the teams are set up to take him out of the game. Now that Del is back, as much as I've been looking forward to them pairing up again, i'd now think about putting Dobbie on the bench. Once the opposition settles into how we play then introduce Dobbie which will either allow Dobbie time or will allow the likes of Del more time as the opposition look to concentrate on Dobbie.

This. I don't know if I'm part of the pc brigade but I don't swear and I was tempted to move to the terrace to get away from JT. I thought his conduct and language were totally embarrassing.

Two further points if I may. 1) I agree with what nimian has posted. I was disgusted at the obscene chanting by a group of our supporters at Somerset and made my views known on this site. It is wrong to condemn the fans if our officials are every bit as guilty. I hope Mr Hewitson will note the feelings expressed here and have a disciplinary word with Thomson; and 2) despite a rare breach of the 2,000 attendance barrier we still managed quite comfortably to have the lowest attendance in the Championship yesterday.
