Several supporters on Saturday were saying Ward still has one and a half seasons left on his contract. Who's right?

Is Mattock, even on the rare occasions when he is fully fit, actually as good as Joe Skarz? I've never been convinced of that.
Sadly our two "match winners", Frecks and Newell , look like they are burgered.... and that makes a massive difference to our chances of survival.
Kelly. Wood. Broadfoot, Wilson and Halford are past their sell-by dates, and have been poor value-for-money for us re injuries and suspensions - We could have signed a couple of reliable Championship level players instead, for what those five contracts have cost us - it's been a false economy and money thrown down the drain

Mattock did my head in on Saturday. He looked like his heart wasn't in it. He seriously needs to improve his attitude. I noticed Jackett telling him to hurry up when he was strolling around!

Don't know what's happened to Mattock as he's a shadow of the player he's was last season.
He gives his man so much space and rarely stops crosses coming in.
Unfortunately he hasn't got any serious competition for his place so KJ will probably have to persevere with him and hope he can get more out of him.
I wish Evans hadn't let Skarz go. He was an honest pro who never hid in a game and was as good as anyone we've had at left back since he left us.

Yep agreed mellow, he had his limitations but he certainly was no worse than Mattock.

Belaid is a left back and assuming he's over an awkward injury surely now is the time to give him a go ? Looking at the career highlights that someone recently posted (admittedly from a low standard of football) he certainly has something to offer.

Its a waste of time hoping to EVER keep a good side together here..we haven't got the money, and we dont get the gates..look at the wembley team..agard..couldnt afford to keep him...tavs same..pringle..same.. revell went for an offer that he couldnt refuse at his age and cemented his financial future..all because we wouldnt/couldnt pay..its the same if we get a good player in january..he'll go..we have to resign ourselves to that fact and accept it ..

Only Camp will remain when KJ builds a L1 team..

For L1 we will need much fitter players much fitter and motivated to get themselves into battles and come out on top.

I've never seen Belaid play at full back so can't really comment on his suitability but I agree it's probably worth giving him a try as Mattock has been such a disappointment this season.
