The damage is so deep rooted I am thinking 2 seasons to get rid of players and pay off contracts, another couple of years to assemble anything like. At that point we may be lucky to attract a decent manager who grows his squad over the next 2 years or so. We at this stage are in L2 so we aren't gonna do a L2, L1 on the bounce - I reckon a good 8 years if not 10.

I worry if I will actually ever see my Rotherham United in the Championship again in my lifetime. FFS Pete stop being so morbid .............

Pete you'd been better off watching racing with me this afternoon. Saw next superstar in Altior + as always a superb Tingle Creek.

Keep the faith with Tony Stewart. He's the man. He's learning by his mistakes. I'm tipping if we go down be straight back up again. Better equipped this time. We've got to go down 1st. Not till the fat lady sings.

Yeah, Frog rarely goes because he is fickle and pathetic and only goes when we are winning. He has really chucked his teddies out this season.

You are right gm_gm but let's be honest, the majority of Millers thought he was a pretty good appointment, decent player in his time, decent managerial record and a fighter who'd survived great personal challenges. Only question mark was his experience at Championship level. Wasn't to be and many cheered his departure and lauded the arrival of KJ as our savior. Who knew eh?

Regular posters will know I have a soft spot for gwru and even offered him use of my garden shed when his terrible gambling record reaches its inevitable sad conclusion.

However, I am minded of the great historian A.J.P.Taylor who once stated to me: "I'm not interested in your opinion only your evidence." The naive belief of many on here in the totemic abilities of Stewart is as touching as it is baffling. Where is the evidence that he's "the man" and where is the evidence that he's "learning from his mistakes"?

We're heading for the worst season in our history, the worst season in Championship (second tier) history and possibly the worst season in the history of FA football so how anybody can defend the status quo is beyond comprehension. No progress whatsoever in 30 months, no lessons learned, overtaken by the Barnsleys and Burtons... we're a shameful disaster. Of course, we can point to mitigating circumstances, to our position in the footballing hierarchy, to our history - to injuries, to referees - but in reality a group of Millersmad posters couldn't have made a worse job of running this football club. For God's sake, TS & Co, get a grip, show some fighting spirit, some organisation, some drive and determination! Start by getting Warney to give you all a team talk at the next Board meeting on what it is to be a Miller.

MR these are words from god save the queen " I love our Tone " He's a top man. I know bull****ters ie Steve Evans, idiots ect... Tony Stewart made his big mistake Stubbs. But at the time I wanted Stubbs out of the names at the time mentioned. But we can all be wise after the event. Millers fans keep the faith in Tony Stewart, best thing that's happened to RUFC in my 51 years being a fan. He'll get us back to were we were & better. Don't drive him away. We'll be in the S H I T then.

Every manager apart from Redfearn had had success.
    Scott at Brentford
    Moore with us
    Stubbs at Hibs
    Evans everywhere bar the courts
    Jackett Millwall, Swansea

TS said in his interview that managers are like salesmen. They talk themselves up.

It's not about that anymore. It's about the infrastructure of the club. Andy Scott started the ball rolling when he dismantled the staff base in one day and laid loads off.
He set on a guy from Bristol to oversee the youth programme.

Apart from that what has advanced other than the stadium to match it behind the scenes?

That's where it needs taking back to and picking it up from there has to be the start. The first team will suffer because of it. But in 4 years we'll be a better club for it.

That's what's so baffling, frog. How can TS get things so right with the stadium and get it so wrong on every other aspect of the football club.

Was it Steve Bruce who was advising him at the start of the venture? I could be wrong.
    Clearing Millmoor was a must.
Losing Hooten Roberts was part of that.
    Training at Doncaster was essential.
Going to Don Valley was essential.
Temporarily moving to Roundwood was a money saving option.
    Wingfield fell through.
    The NYS was constructed.
The land for the new training ground was bought.
    Nothing has happened to it.

Every time he's done something apart from the stadium seem to have been done half heartedly.
Those things now need to be followed through with. Balls to the dream of the premiership and forget throwing money at the position we're in now just look at what needs to be done and do it.

The majority of supporters know what needs to happen and so does Tony Stewart. We'll all support him as long as he is straight with us!
