The club gets criticised for being behind the times and then when we try to update our recruitment with Techy Software the club still gets criticised. Like I said Tony Stewart is damned if he does & damned if he doesn`t.
If by some miracle we did survive some fans still would not be happy.

the thing is I've never heard of this software.... never heard the likes of Man Utd Man City Liverpool etc using it..... suddenly we're going all high tech when we've been recruiting like a third world country..... baffling to say the least

Not knocking it just sceptical ....nowt wrong with that...

Doubtful Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool etc would use it they have millions to chuck at a player, even then they make mistakes and sign a player that doesn`t work out.
We have been recruiting like a third world country that`s why the club are trying a different approach with a new Head of Recruitment & the technical software to go with it. It`s not the be all & end all you still need a good scouting system.

Nowt wrong with being sceptical pal judging from the recruitment this season.

There's and old saying in "IT" and that's...

    "CRAP IN CRAP OUT"

I wonder how credible the information is that drives this software - and if money is involved - it will be BENT.

Football "NETWORKING" on coaching courses - old players you know well and / or played with - old coaches and managers you've work with is the best source of information about players.

Not forgetting watching players to see for yourself.

Then cross matching the information until you can reach a decision.

    Software - BALL - LOCKS !

software takes out the leg work. run the names through the software.narrow it down, then talk to ex managers/coaches then go see em.
technology in all businesses works if operated correctly, dont knock it even if you prefer old school until we have had 2/3 seasons with it.

The owner of Brentford use data systems for the whole running of the club.
It has worked very well for them. They have a glitch in their system called Rotherham United.

I'm all for it. It could pay for itself within a month but we won't know for a couple of years how good it really is.

Of course we should be using whatever technology is available to improve our player recruitment. The problem is we should have been using it for years!
The interview with Tony Stewart makes him look as though he's way out of touch with the modern way of doing things but now he's found a man with a magic box who's going to make everything alright.
We really do need some people on the board who are going to drag the club into the 21st century.

It will be an automated version of what good managers do - and have done forever.

The writers of the software will have picked the brains of many managers about their "techniques" - created software with questions and boxes to "input" that then spews out data required.

A reproduction brain that uses the best practice of real people within the business (empirical values )

Black and white - but such software will never have the old "gut feeling" about a player.....although the person using the software may have one.

It's a form of de-skilling the role of manager which leaves a coaching role which is good - perhaps ?

How many times have we heard a player thanking the manager for bringing him to the club and him saying I'm going to repay his trust.....perhaps they'll thank the software for digitising his attributes...?

    Mellow.

Isn't that what he's trying to do?

At the moment it seems some are just having a go no matter what.

I think he should stop doing interviews because for me he try's to be honest and he doesn't always come across the best does he?

Mellow you've been watching the millers a long time we've had some crap haven't we?

I agree it's what's in the future now and the lovely stadium isn't everything.

I do think TS is trying to get it correct.

Pocket, I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for Tony Stewart and everything he's done for our club.
However I'm not alone in thinking he needs some help and should be looking to appoint a few professionals into key positions to improve the infrastructure of the club. Some of his comments appear very amateurish and out of touch because communication is not one of his strong points. In fact it's never been one of the club's strong points either so that's one area that needs to be addressed.
You're right, I have followed the Millers for a long time (60 years) and we have had some crap but also some good times as well.
Our current situation is not the worst of times we have faced but I think TS and the board have missed a golden opportunity to take the club forward and now they are rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
That's what really irks me because I reckon it will be a while before we get out of this mess.
I hope I'm wrong and a miracle happens but I stopped believing in those years ago 😕
