The thing is though Newcy Wolf, the ref this evening was also the one who was the man in the middle at Anfield!

It would be quick and easy for me to blame the ref for not sending off Mitrovic for his late challenge on Ikeme, but there were three incidents before that, a dive for a penalty, an elbow on Danny Batth and then the foul he conceded after tangling with Stearman. I'm more brassed off with Mitrovic's winner, how and why the hell do Wolves continue defending as they do? two goals at Burton and then this one today.

Wolves for me could still be playing now and wouldn't score. Both keeper's had a relatively easy game, barely tested. From a Wolves point of view, Dicko, Stearman and Edward's with decent enough chances to score. What concerns me though is again the long punt forward to Dicko, the ball is constantly given back to the opposition. The substitution od Enobakhare was baffling, arguably Wolves' best player on the pitch.

The second half really showed the gulf between the two sides, one side Newcastle, pressing the opposition, the other Wolves, standing off an giving Shelvey the freedom of the centre of midfield. He's technically very good compared to anything Wolves have on show.

Late on and chasing the game summed up Wolves to a tee, three crosses into the box, all easily gathered by Darlo at a time where a quality delivery is required.

The FA cup run is papering over the cracks and Wolves need to find something on Tuesday to turn over Wigan!

Highlights for those that haven't seen the game.
