Gents, inc r4j, if you want a social media platform where you can find threads with no dissent, only endless mutual knob sucking on whatever subject you fancy, go to Facebook. The easiest way of moderating posts or posters who overstep the mark between passionate debate and plain old troublemaking is to ignore them, starve them of the responses which provide the oxygen they need to continue. then we can get back to business

Ok so what you are suggesting is that noone responds to anything that said poster posts. Good idea but usually one of us is so exasperated by the **** the ****wit posts that we crack.

A concerted boycott of the forum for a few weeks is the only way for the "ignore tactic" to have a chance of working. A fortnight of isolation might work, a bit like quarantining Ebola....

I'm suggesting that no one responds to ANYONE or ANYTHING that oversteps the mark from passionate to troublemaking, I am naming no names. Don't get exasperated, just read if you have to, ignore, move on. Sorry if my self control is better than yours but I don't really think it is.

See what I mean Rog, it's actually a piece of piss, I'm sure if Mel Morris used this forum he'd call it 'The Faber Way'

Very wise words Andy and indeed tbh Rog had already kinda suggested that, but it was getting very irritated. But I'm in the ignore and do not respond club.
