Was it Dave Nicolas - comercial manager sometimes looked after Derek....Sadly died at home in Cyprus....just guessing ?

But he spent on football too ! Evidently !

Got a lovely pic shaking hands with Anton....that match too as he pressed the flesh pre-match....his body guard not too friendly though....lol

Can't compete off the field you're struggling on the field and AJ Spent the coffers but alegidly the "MillerMen" production costs were high....?

Dave Nicols? (Half-brother of Millers full back Chris Hudson, I think)
I remember seeing him one lunchtime talking to another Millers fan in the Betting Office opposite Millmoor. He was telling the Millers fan that he was off to Doncaster.... the Millers fan thanked him for all the work he had done at Millmoor over the years and wished him good luck... only to be told that he was going to see the horse racing, not to work for Donny Rovers!

That day was closer to the end of World War 2 that it is to today.
Those were the days my friend; we thought they'd never end. I had a video tape of the match which has sadly disintegrated with age so thanks for the link

Correct both times. Dave ran the Cavalier Sunday League team in his youth and Chris Hudson played for ours after his league career was ended

I can honestly say the atmosphere at Millmoor will never be matched by NYS & will never see a team as good. One thing about old age,I think we have seen the best teams & players ever to wear the red & white shirt,so it's not all bad being an old Miller.
