Lets be honest, League 1 is our level. We occasionally flirt with the second tier, we have been known to drop to the 4th tier, but overall this league is where we can expect to find us most often. We are an average sized club with a local businessman as chairman. In this day and age that model of doing things with a club of our size will see us pretty much where we are right now.
Every few seasons we'll have a thrill ride and do well, we'll get to the Championship, the "punching above their weight" comments will be rolled out by every pundit, we'll scrap for a few seasons before we find out that we just aren't good enough at that level and we drop back down.
If we do what we've always done, we'll get what we've always had. A few changes along the way, a better ground etc, but we're still doing things the way we've always done them so to expect things to magically change for the better is insanity.
After last seasons utter farce, I'll take us being competitive this season. If we achieve mid table with the intention of a slow build over a couple of seasons, I'll take that. I hate us losing as much as anyone, especially at home, but it's going to happen and it'll happen again. There is no overnight fix or miracle cure for us, Warne might not be the long term solution but changing managers every pair of plates isn't the answer either.
Can I ask you to stop talking sense or you will get banned.

Hello mr common sense, now, you've just put yourself, in some people's eyes, in the happy clapper club, and welcome...

Many folk on here, including me, predicted a mid-table finish. That generally means losing against the better sides, and beating the poorer teams. So far this has happened. After another potential mauling at Portsmouth, we have a run against less fancied clubs. Let's hold fire until then. I would really like to see Paul Warne given a sporting chance.

Haha I've seen people talk about the happy clapper club on here. But critics of the happy clappers refer to themselves as the realists do they not? I think what I've posted is as realistic as it gets for us, but I'll happily be a happy clapper

The alternative is to stop watching football, or go and support the team with the biggest budget in the country. No thanks!

Let's be clear guys, the Happy Clapper tag came about last season and was aimed at those people who refused to accept that the club was being badly run and that Stubbs was a very poor manager.
Thankfully things have moved on since then.

I'm worried, but willing to wait till 10 games cum end of September time. More worried if no more signings before the deadline. At least one more in for the weekend. Then straight after the weekend, and now it's all gone quiet.
