Crown green is STILL on my list to try again now I’m over 40, but I really think we should have a splodging thread. Britain’s number ONE participant sport. Would that be ok with you? I have played crown green a bit as a kid Shoreham down at Gleadless town end. Back then it wasn’t so much seen as an old man’s sport and me and my mates used to have a throw when we weren’t kicking a ball on to football pitches just up from the greens.

I love watching it on the box, I’ll probably get around to it mate before I’m too old.

I actually meant to say Gleadlless Church Shoreham so it’d be the same greens you play on now.

I played on the football pitches there as well and my claim to fame is that I kicked Dave Berry into touch in a close season kick about. He knew all there was to know abaaht the crying game.
