Interesting draw for the fans and at just over 200 miles from Dumfries and with better roads should be quicker and easier to get to than Inverness (230 miles). Pleased that it is practically a home game for Jimmymerseybranch who moved to Ruthin Wales a couple of years ago.
There are trains that run to Oswestry but pricey - Long drive via the awful M6 - Travel Club bus best option but will be limited on seats - The Shrewsbury branch of the Queens support will be happy

With this game now being shown on Welsh Channel 4 (S4C) will this now be a financially rewarding trip down South? I do recall that the organisers did mention that teams would be helped out with travelling costs and overnight accommodation when it was first stated that Irish and Welsh team would be introduced to this competition.

Where do you suggest that we use as a meeting point?
The ground is a good mile and a half from the town with virtually nothing out towards the show ground area.
    See you soon Jim
We're having beers in Shrewsbury before getting train in to Gobowen at 1240, getting a cab straight to the club at the ground mate, only one pub in Gobowen so not worth stopping there, a lot more going on in Oswestry but trains don't go there unfortunately.
Couple of bars at the ground & I've had it on good authority that said bars will be well manned

The travelling punters will be glad of that news as it has been known for them to drink a pub dry before - A friendly at Newcastle Benfield comes to mind !

Whilst not exactly drinking the bar dry that day.The bar takings were 4p short of a grand.I know for a fact as the barman gave me the receipt which I only threw away a couple of years ago.The largest bar takings that they had in three years I believe. The last time was in an FA cup tie against York City when the crowd was more than double of what was there for our friendly game."We know our manners....and how to sup the tankards"
