Ah, Swindon. The town that closes at 18:00. If their board is anything like the place it will be bland and empty.

I have some experience on other boards. Post regularly on one other and ran the emcforum for Rams, Trees and Foxes for about 10 years before we got inundated with trolls and the good posters all left. Having all but destroyed the board, we were down to about 10 regular non-trolls, the trolls left. I contacted all the old "faces" and let them know the trolls had gone, been banned in most cases. Only a couple returned. A year later I closed it down.

One individual has come under a lot of criticism. I am not surprised that the Mods have told everybody calm down or be carded. I hope that doesn't get translated to "any criticism will be carded". If someone posts something which is incorrect, factually or is wrong due to their misunderstanding something or quoting a part of something out of context then criticism of the post should be accepted by the transgressor, especially when the criticiser has gone to the trouble of explaining why the poster is wrong.

I made the error recently of thinking Grayson was still at Leeds..... threw another poster off balance with that one. My error was pointed out and I accepted that. The correction wasn't intended as a slight. It was meant to be helpful. My hope is that everybody accepts corrections as help rather than an attack.

The football and the general demise of forums are also, IMO, reasons this place isn't swarming with newbies.

Ok I've done my bit. Angry has returned and looks like MOP too.
And we have the Es***lad to provide amusement.

Time for Bloomer and gang to get a few more back.

Just a little staying into moderation..
If Bloomer's active and he says he'll devote about an hour a day - that seems good enough. So I think we don't need any Mods for the time being until such time Bloomer feels he needs an assistant. Then we can have an open election for the post. Just my suggestion
