nobody left early around where i was.
there certainly wasn't a mass exodus... cos i would have noticed.
the same people leave 5 minutes early every match regardless.
some go to get served first at the bar - others to catch their buses whatever - especially at late night matches.
There were mistakes made but there's no point complaining as I thought we were in for a good Howkin'. I'll take the one goal loss, it might just save us from the drop through goal difference at the end of the season. Loved the last fifteen minutes though, another foot to the left and Gayle's header would have had the place just jumpin'.![]()
In reply to Kingstonbob's question, 'Is anyone worried?' I think it's inevitable that 5 successive home defeats leaves some of us worried. The other 4 weren't against Man City. I find it depressing too that in a home game, admittedly against top opponents, we set out to keep the score down rather than try to win. We can't keep leaving it that we don't start playing until we're 0-1 down. I find it worrying too that people keep trying to find positives when we get beat. I hope that things will change when, or maybe if, we get some new players in January.
5 successive home defeats is not a great record, but it's our first season back up and trying to beat City (who are basically unbeatable) and getting trashed at home surely doesn't improve that? Rafa came closer to getting a draw than a lot of other teams have against City this season, don't see what you're whining about really. Time to be realistic. We are not world-beaters, and we need to defend our goal in every game.
I like many I spoke to thought Wooow when i saw the team and the first half performance was 'difficult' to watch, but after 75+ mins you could see that Rafa had played it right and sent on more attacking players to have a go. They started to back off a bit and we nearly sneaked what would have been on balance of play an undeserved point. Brighton is the bigger game and we have to take it to them/win.
Howay the lads!
we didn't embarrass ourselves. Could have nicked something at the end.
Rolando Aarons was disappointing, I expected him to really grasp his first start in goodness knows how long.
To all those upset about how deep we sat from minute 1, i know it's hard to accept but we all know what would have happened if we didn't, just ask Spurs.
We better smash Brighton at the weekend though. I'm upset Merino didn't start.
