One thing's for sure-we have to attack Brighton. We can't afford not to win this one.

    My team would be:

    Elliott

    Yedlin
    Lacelles
    Clark
    Dummett

    Mbemba
    Shelvey

    Ritchie
    Merino
    Atsu

    Gayle

I like that, especially if Merino was pushed forward into Perez' usual role. I'd also be happy to see Hayden and Merino in the middle with Murphy in the role just behind Gayle. Each game he's played he's shown a bit more of what he's capable of.

Not far from what I would pick
However I would play shelvey as a 10

I tell you one thing we don't do as a team, and that's shoot from distance very much. I remember Shelvey scoring an absolute screamer from distance against us so in a more advanced role he'd get more opportunity. )mind, he has had one or two efforts which have been shocking...so maybe that's why we don't do it very often )

and then i would have moaned as we simply didnt try

i praised the effort for the west ham game and the attacking we did

we arent that bad going forward
we have taken the lead in several games

what we cant do is what everyone keeps telling me rafa is great at sorting which is defend

im honestly beginning to feel rfa cant sort the defence out without 11 behind the ball

and cant get a team to play some kind of offensive footy whilst defending

if we had lost 6-0 giving it a go and contributing something to the game i would not have moaned many have been taken apart by them and teams a lot better than us
there would be no embarrassment in that

what was embarrasing is the way we played from the start

if it had been a boxing match the ref would have stopped the fight as we offered no punches

if we had thrown a few he would have let the fight go on

many of our fans made their minds up on the outcome and went long before the end
    Whiny whiny whiny

The other notable thing about that team is that, other than Merino, it's entirely our Chimpo team. That's the reality of where we are.

The takeover happening and 17th or above by the end of the season and I'd snap your hand off.

to be fare he cant defend
    and doesnt track back

which is why under rafa i dont think he is as effective as he could be
he is playing as Rafa asks him to and cant do it

however he can occasionally slip a nice ball in so play him in front of a defensive midfield and he doesnt get knocked of the ball much so could hold it up and bring the wide lads in with balls into space for them to run into (city do this very well as their players can pass to feet or into areas that defenders dont like defending).it also keeps teams on the back foot .
as you say he can ping a ball which was good in the fizzy but less effective in this league .
we have little choice to play him so play him attacking and helping gayle stop the defenders taking the ball to far into our half .
