Again, that's not really true, just partially in the first season and a half

when Ray got sacked. Ellis got the reaction which left CL in a decent position to take us forward.

After a good start, i was convinced CL would get us up. we were playing good stuff and looked a different team to the ones Ray put out. our attacking intent was impressive which saw early improvements in players who had not started the season well.

then fyvie and fraser got long term injuries and also losing to St mirren interrupted our rhyme and knocked our confidence. then made loads of signings in the window who havent really improved our squad in any way. then our normal January slump happened and continues to make our life hell. Since the saints game, everything that we had done well when CL first came in has went out the window which has made us look so poor its amateur stuff.

my question is why did CL change the way we were playing? in the early games we attacked with so much intent in a good few years. we controlled and dominated teams in these early games. so why have we changed our style to what everyone else is doing in the division? has the injuries forced CL to change his mind with the way we are playing? has he just bottled in after getting humped by falkirk? or is he another of the not got a clue managers weve hired?

if CL can get us back to playing the way we were when he first came in we are capable of winning games and finishing a bear minimum 2nd (even without SF and FF) but if we are going to continue to play the current style then CL will be gone real soon as we wont even reach playoffs imo.

Having Fyvie in the team gives you someone who can break up an attack, turn around and supply the composed pass that sets up a counter. He allows others to get on with their jobs as he will sit and cover as required, so the attacking minded get forward, or Willo can go on and make 3 stunning challenges in a row!

Without him, the whole defence is exposed, Willo still runs about trying to make 3 challenges in a row and there is no outlet to the attack minded players! Anyone know where Paul Paton ended up?

I actually think the squad is good enough. This is a pretty poor championship, no other big teams like in previous years.

You could easy make a decent 4-4-2 out of this squad that if they were motivated could win it.

If we had Jack Ross or David Hopkin as manager we would have walked this league

On the back of Friday's performance this team will be lucky to get a play off spot, never mind beat any top Championship side or second bottom in the premier. Question has to be asked should we just cut our losses and start building for next season now? There's only so long you can flog a dead horse.

Of course it is but does the recent combination of team selections, player attitude/desire, performances, results and the managers body language show any great levels of confidence for the future under CL?

We are an absolute shambles at the moment, I was hoping for much better under him, he has a decent pedigree after all.

The standard of our signings has been horrendous.

I’d vote for limping along to the end of the season then reassess, if there has been no discernible improvement and we have a (free) termination clause then he’s going to go imo.

Csaba has to win himself the opportunity to manage us next season.

Real problems stem from players who are lacking in ability but more importantly ambition, there’s no heart or guts being shown by a lot of them.

The leagues gone and with this shower avoiding play offs wouldn’t be a bad idea, should just leave as is and start planning for next year.

Csaba has shown so far to be a dud, someone needs to sit him down, tell him to get things sorted out because Plan A ( feck knows who knows what it is supposed to be ! ) is just not working and we need a Plan B going forward.

Give him till end of season to prove himself or convince us he could do better with players with better attitude.

Unfortunately with the Fud in charge and duds around him on the board there’s not really going to be anyone sitting him down, sensible discussion unlikely to be had.

Season likely over now I fear.

It's difficult not to feel sympathetic for Csaba - he is now fighting to save his job.

The players who he has given an opportunity to have let him down badly, the players have failed to impose themselves in games, they have not been good enough and it's the players who should be taking responsibility for this.

The players have let the club, fans and manager down.

We were losing games when we had few injuries, so the argument that it's due to players being injured is nonsense - it's due to players not contributing, having no bull fight and under performing.

Amazingly, United are still contenders to make the play offs - Csaba now has to rally the players, get them organised, motivate them and get them playing with pride and start grinding out results.

The challenge for the players is to start winning games, keep a clean sheet and get ready for the play offs - if any of the players think they will fall short of this challenge they should do the decent thing and and for their contract to be ripped up.

It's time for the players to stand up and take responsibility for this mess.
