True, but I suppose they could freeze them.

The advertising is very New York based though, suppose they hope people don't think about it too much.

I'm OK with the name but I think we could have come up with something that was a bit more obviously representative of the town. While there is the connection with the old New York neighbourhood of Rotherham, this is pretty obscure for most people and there are no links with the US city. (Rotherham was geographically within the diocese of York and the name is based purely on that religious association, as far as I can tell.)

To me it smacks of opportunism and seems completely disingenuous to attempt to trade off the New York City connection. (The myth of the NYC fire hydrants being manufactured in Rotherham was a nice try but, like everything else that attempts to make this link, now seems like what it really is - a transparent fabrication.)

Sorry, I know I sound like a grumpy old man!

Was that shown not to be true then?

    There's certainly no evidence.

When I looked into it seemed to be the case that NY's fire hydrants were made locally, which would certainly make more sense, why would they import them when it would have been much cheaper to make their own?

It's certainly surprising that there hasn't been any commercial exploitation of the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Nice one, Silly-miller! My only reservation would be that everybody and his dog outside Rotherham in South Yorkshire would say we only pay peanuts for our crap players! Up the Nutty Millers!

    Hi CT,

I'm the " grumpy old man " on here as well you know.....

I love the song before & after the game.
Fond memories of Millmoor & every time we walk up to NYS we look over to the ' Old Girl ' & realise how far we've come in a short space of time.
All our ground needs now is a footbridge over the river so we can get to the ground quicker from New York Tavern.....& get back there quicker to celebrate.
A bridge over the railway line would allow access for away fans.....not going to happent anytime soon so get used to it.

Yes, we need our own version of the "Brooklyn Bridge" now.... doesn't need to be quite as big though
