Warne has done a cracking job this season and has rightly had the plaudits.
Well he has to take criticism for yesterday because that was terrible.
His comments about us been a lot better second half are laughable we had a little spell yes but don’t try and fool the fans who went Paul.

Comments from some Southend fans we were talking to after the game.

    Very poor and slow team.
Defenders looked all over the place.
Worse side that had played at home all season.

Might want to think about that analysis again Warne cause we were crap.
    I’m still annoyed now 😡

Williams should have been subbed at HT
It must have been the home brew but I thought he had swapped him for Icky and put two big uns up front. Not selling the beer though it tastes too good and has special properties!

You could say the same about them at NYS when they took a right beating.

You can't play like that and expect to get anything out of the game.
Ball and Smith were marked out of the game for long periods, by-passing midfield and awful defending had us chasing the game.

Just a thought....the 5% we got from the sale of away tickets could be put towards re-imbursing the 461 away supporters.

    My MOTM...Lewis Price.
I dont go to many away games these days, especially long trips like southend...
I bet most of the fans that went spent at least 60 quid on the day..youre right about a reimbursement if there wasnt much effort frank, you can forgive lack of skill but not effort..it pizzes me off when we lose, but reading about the performance today sticks the boot in proper..warney knows who his best eleven is and i think hes using a few games to experiment..its a live game not a practice match and its not funny either..

Not much damage yet, despite the last 3 defeats luckily. Next 2 games have become very important. With Wigan to play also, it's ***** that we pick up points from the lower placedteams.

    Your correct hotun.

My point been though that for me who spent £200 yesterday it’s bad enough withought having our manager treating the fans who went like idiots.

We were poor and he should say so.
    Like Warne don’t like bull****.

When you think about what he has said why has he played both Williams and Taylor? These two play the ball on the floor and the pitch wasn't good enough to do that.
Forde would have been better suited.

He didn't 'fiddle with the team'- apart from Price it was the same team that beat Northampton. And on that pitch, that might have been the mistake. He likes to keep a winning team the same, but it wasn't a day for Williams. Two central defenders on the bench, this must be the end for Purrington?

Two inexperienced central defenders together on the pitch told its story. Vaulks is a great battler but his positional sense sometimes is lacking. Someone needs to show Ajayi the Row Z Manual.

Smith battled with little real service, Price kept us in it first half, Palmer was always looking to be available, Newell didn't look interested when he came on. He almost took a corner.

    Not much else of note.

Perigord, the Southend manager was on Talksport Saturday morning and gave special mention to the problems their pitch posed for better teams and how you had to adapt your play to it. Warne's inexperience showed here imo. Warnock, for example, would have approached it quite differently.
