Truly the party of the people don't you think lads?
Or perhaps they are a party that actually deals with such issues within it's ranks as opposed to denying there is an issue and blaming the media?

I can understand why you try to laugh that off - I might do the same if I were a member of a political tribe - but the Labour record on discipline is not impressive is it?

Ken Livingston has been suspended for is it two years over alleged anti-Semitism and the allegedly misogynistic Sheffield MP is, I think, still to have his case resolved. Are those cases so difficult to deal with?

The difficulty arises when it's people and not widgets that are the subject of the business activity, particularly if the targeting distorts decision making. That such distortion occurred is the case that Labour needs to make if it is to dent May. I don't rate their chances with Abbott leading the charge.

Interesting to see animal batting for immigrants given his previous calls to eject all Muslims from this country.
Following a terrorist attack kerr that claimed a number of lifes .

I read it that the targets had a role in leading to some of the Windrush generation being deported or detained - they were easier to find as they were using everyday services rather than hiding (eg NHS staff and others were asked to get proof of citizenship or residence rights for those they suspected might not have them), and then because they couldn’t show the necessary papwerwork the Home Office said they should leave (despite several legitimate reasons why they didn’t have the paperwork - they were children at the time, the Home Office had destroyed landing cards etc).

Rudd had officially known about the targets, then lied (or if we’re being generous careslessly forgot) about them.

I agree that in general organisations use targets for many legitimate reasons, but when as the overall Manager/Director (for that’s what a Minister really is) you are made aware of problems that the targets are causing and can’t show you have a handle on the issue, you’ve not done your job. Even if you think like I do that a Secretary of State’s job is nigh on impossible to do particularly well, keeping her in place would have set a horrible precedent.

The thing is that you could use exactly the same reason for Theresa May to now go, as she apparently didn’t speak up to correct Rudd was she said she didn’t know about the targets and bears the same responsibility. However, I’m no Tory supporter but I’m not sure that the country would benefit from another change of PM or an election right now...

I suspect that The Guardian who have uncovered the scandal have more bullets in their gun and we may see yet more revelations that could well lead to the current PM's front door and her time at the home office .

The Guardian have played this one very well and delivered a telling blow to the government .

Whether the deplorable Abbott can twist the knife is questionable .

Laughing at the absolute irony of your post, trying to deflect again, the Labour party (i'm not a member and never have been) is the largest party in Europe in terms of membership, it's quite a broad 'church' and you're going to get pockets of beliefs across the board. I'd agree that discipline should be robust, but you're bouncing all over the anti semitism bandwagon, the truth is, that campaigning against the Israeli government's actions in regards to Palestine and it's treatment of Palestinians, alongside going against UN rules in taking land etc etc is NOT anti semitic and never will be.
The tory party on the other hand is rife with it, alongside racist that is endemic, indeed it still has councillors hwo quite blatantly wore SS and Nazi uniforms as a 'joke'....i suspect you know the truth of what the tory party is and represents, you're just not honest enough to say it.

Rubbish. There are no more than about 5-6 thousand illegal immigrants in the whole of Great Britain.. Most of them are concentrated around the Surrey area. There are none whatsoever in Rotherham after stirling cleansing work by RMBC, at no cost to the taxpayer. Even the hate van was on HP.

Personally, I've never seen even one round my way. So there aren't any.
