I think the problem with the type of players you have listed above as well as the ones who have arrived here, also the many others at Liverpool who have boosted the numbers up of those who haven't made it is that they have looked good to the scouts who have tracked them but when acquired just haven't gelled and fitted in although they at one time or another looked as though they would.

A good example of this would be Thauvin who you couldn't say was a bad player.

This is totally different to the position Rafa has been in where he's taken 4th/5th/6th choice in desperation to keep the squad numbers up in case of injury, having been denied through lack of investment 1st or even 2nd choice.
