I think that's what perplexes a lot of us-there wasn't a history of rivalry or any major antagonistic incidents I can think of. And it wasn't just an off-the-cuff thing-going to the extent of preparing banners-what was all that about, man???? And it's not just banter or what any fans would do when faced with a club in the position we were in-we could have sent West Brom down and there wasn't one chant about them going down or them being shit or anything.

Aye the way they went on particularly the first time was really unexpected but looking back now not surprising. My pal had a full pint thrown over him as he had the audacity to wear his strip under a jacket when we walked past a bar on Broad Street nowhere near the ground. Two lads walked over and ushered us away, they were West Brom lads and said ‘they are Villa everyone hates them round here.’ In another pub some ar2eholes at the bar were literally in our faces when we were waiting to be served. Trying to goad us. Others had bother off them away from the ground as well.

What I found fantastic was that their fans were in Shearers first home game of the season a year and a bit later when we did them 6-0 and didn’t get any bother. Class - classless.

I will always love Cissé and for a numbers of reasons. But remember his debut? Came on early in the game and ended up providing the winning goal at St. James' by putting the ball into the corner in a technically quite skilled effort. Against Aston Villa. For some reason, that game made a lot of the bitterness disappear. I don't care about them at all as Papiss made it right for me. I'm not unhappy to them see them struggling, they deserve a downer. As for us; onwards and upwards!
