    ThTs what charnley is saying

    There is a transfer fund
But only after all the. Ills have been paid
I’m fully aware of that Pboro and even stated in another thread that the tv money at around £123 million would cover the players wages and maybe pay a few bills. So as all we have after that is the gate money

I do not see any money available to buy new players do you???

We would have to shift a lot of dead wood on mega salaries which are virtually impossible to shift. Our only decent assets are Jamaal and Mitro so looks as though both will be on their way out

    It's Fatso's turn.

He won't, though. The man is a disease and we will succumb sooner or later unless the source of the infection is cut out.
Well said Zip, sadly i think until we're truly ****ed he won't leave us.

Any other owner would have invited him to his office after the Chelsea game, put the arm around the shoulder and handed him a glass of nice wine. He would have told him the budget plans, no strings attached whether the figure was 30 or 300 million.

He's not telling him the budget before the contract extension because its shiit. Plain to see, If he goes then Mike wins again bringing back Pardew just as the transfer window closes.

save it for the lad willing to commit to the toon

not someone holding a gun to everyones head

    that's not how you negotiate

why not have a clause in it saying
    I will sign a 5 year deal
but I get 40mill this window and an increase of say 15% per season plus the league position bonus and all the extra money from the 4th round on in the cups

    that's negotiating
both parties know where they are and what they need to deliver both on and off the field
I think its Mike holding the gun here not Rafa. He doesn't need to give him the money up front in a paper bag FFS, just tell him a figure in a private conversation.

As you say, both parties need to know where the stand - its good manners.

It's mental if it's true, by the way.

Rafa would be insane to sign before he knows the budget. Would you buy a car without being able to drive it? A house without seeing what it's like inside? Here, buy this raffle ticket. Not going to tell you what the prize is but you've got to sign a contract for three years to see what you get but if you don't like it you owe us millions to get out of it?

    Don't think so.

But don't you think it's much more sensible for Rafa to sign?
If he signs an extension for say 3 more years, then he's basically added 20 million into his bank account regardless of whether Ashley dishes out on transfers or not.

    So Rafa is covered.

Ashley isn't in the no sign scenario.
The one holding things up, is Rafa.

He should sign or go, because no right minded fan can surely be happy with a manager spending cash on players whilst also refusing to commit to seeing a job done.

It isn't all about money though, it's about trophies and seeing the club move on.

If he signs then Ashley (as many suspect) screws him on the money front he just spends 3 years keeping heads above water, which he doesn't want to do.

Would you sign a 3 year deal on your current wage....,to dig 6 foot deep holesholes with a tea spoon??
No you wouldn’t you would expect your employer to provide the tools necessary to do the job properly
If you were competing with a few chaps digging holes and they had spades and shovels would you not ask your boss if he would put his hand in his pocket so you could buy a spade??
You would not put up with 3 years of toil wanting the right tools only to get an upgrade from a teaspoon to a desert spoon!

exactly what i have been saying

but again i cant see that happening until rafa commits

we could ****ft a lot before we shift those you mention

and even if we give them aawy we release wages to get loans or out of contract players in

it may be another ashley thread but it isn't repetitive , its a brand new story

same as rafa can be talked about in a million different threads without it being repetitive, if each one is a different story, has a different slant.

the difference between that and YOUR POSTS RE RAFA are that you cut and paste word for word the same things over and over again... you may even type them out each time... but word for word they are the same... therefore repetitive. you really need to look up the meanings of words you are using/reading, by your reckoning... another post about NUFC would be repetitive. pfft.
