Also as an employer I thought you would know it's common practice to suspend when serious allegations are made.To investigate and gather as much information as possible to get the right conclusion for those involved.

If guilty (and i do think he'll be found guilty personally - regardless of how innocently he might of meant it) then he needs to be sacked. Till he's sacked he's innocent and as you said in serious accusation the accused is suspended for further investigation. Happens in every sector i've worked in.
