It's all too easy to generalise about Yorkshire people but
A genorosity of spirit, a warm welcome to outsiders and an unfaltering sunny disposition are just 3 qualities they have never bothered with!

You couldn’t be more wrong.

What Yorkshire folk do is they say what’s on their mind and usually directly to you rather than snidely behind your back.

Moving from Yorkshire to the Midlands was really tough for us as a family and for me as a kid in particular.

The thing that made it easier?

We ended up in the Black Country and we found the locals to be very like Yorkshire folk.......hard working,straight talking and always willing to lend a hand if you needed it.

Having said the last Yorkshiremen I had any dealings with I found to be lazy and possibly the worst person I have ever encountered for making snide comments behind your back. A blatant liar! He was however generous with his money.

I don't like stereotyping anyone as reckon there are good and bad everywhere. Fortunately in my experience the former far outnumber the later.

And he reckons Astle's goal in 71 was offside. Idiot!

FFS read the post. I am NOT deriding Yorkshire folk or any others. It was a joke, a bit of light relief, I don't have a problem with Yorkshire.
