If they did just knock the lot down does anyone know if English Heritage have any legal powers to bring charges against the club or the demolition company?

Yes they can. The responsible parties can face criminal charges and the English Heritage can also demand that any work carried out is reversed. Although I don't know how that would work if we are talking about a demolished building. Surely they wouldn't make us rebuild it.

    Can't surely be safe

Hopefully further inspections will verify and the lot can be dragged down
That's right, it runs down from where the 'tower' meets the main building right down to the ground and it runs through bricks and mortar.
The lot wants knocking down in the name of safety alone.😡

    Indeed.
English Heritage won't have any say in it if the structure is unsafe particularly with large cship crowds imminently descending into the areA.

If it needs to be demolished to make it safe then it will be demolished

I’m sure the listed bit is still standing (Tower) English Heritage will have had no argument in demolishing it all otherwise

Been down today and all the facade which fronts on to Don St has gone ! You know all that with the bricked up windows, large wooden door, main goods in entrance, plus the broken lengths of cast iron drain pipes, not forgetting the large green trees and bushes growing out of the walls, looks much better already !

Ps don’t know where all the Bats have been relocated too ?

That was the listed part. So theoretically there should be nothing now stopping the demolition of the non listed bit, which is already beyond any repair.

Went to NYS today. A fair chunk has now gone on the river side. Dont know how much more to do but it still needs tidying off at least.

Are the bats in the bit where the Guest and Chrimes sign/tower is? Maybe keep that bit and bulldoze the rest. We'll have signed a central midfielder before this is sorted.
