So do you think that the 2.8% demographic difference is responsible for giving us all in Rotherham a feeling a comparable unfriendliness??
Two points. Firstly the different demographic might have a bearing. Second "...us all in Rotherham..." is hardly appropriate to someone living in Herts?

Do grow up, roly. Your "potentially offensive" alarm must have woken you up.

Usual unsavoury stuff from the Kempo glove puppets - very predictable

Wow you were quicker than I thought Monty just serves to prove my point even better. Anyway, I'm coming out of the argument now because Im sure IBS would like it to degenerate into the old left and right arguments and I really can't be arsed to indulge him.

Keep an eye on it mods this thread could get exceedingly tedious.

I'm fairly certain my town will become a huge economic giant once the Northern Powerhouse project is up and running possibly overtaking Leeds and becoming the number one choice for employers and the aspirational in Yorkshire .

As Rotherham and Doncaster become satellite towns serving my borough then the benefits will have a knock on effect .

The town centre modernisation is just a fairly modest start and once the football club regains it's PL place then we will once again be firmly back on the map .

A world class town centre , world class employers , a PL club owned by a consortium of billionaire owners the future can be nothing but positive .

Your welcome of course to visit this fine borough and share in its prosperity , a friendly welcome is guaranteed .

One thing I like about Barnsley folk is they are extremely quick learners, especially when differentiating between plurals, possession and use of the apostrophe

Do you think the Pakistanis population is particularly friendly to non-Pakistanis?

I don't think so because they're from a tribal society and the majority are only friendly to members of their tribe.

To me there is a massive difference between the two towns.
Possibly, they do seem a bit "folksier" and the accent is broader, I think the difference may be that Rotherham is basically attached to Sheffield and Barnsley is more separated and maybe has more rural areas, a bit less city and a bit more country.
