Some really good reviews on there Jackal, seems the kind of player that brings the best out in others too.. very happy with this one.

Agree. We seem to be trying to address the main weaknesses in the squad and a central defender and a battling midfielder were among the priorities. Allessandra seems back in contention and the imminent return of Enzio is almost like a third signing, so I am a bit more optimistic on our survival chances than I was at the turn of the year.

"Good team mate", "Hard work" and willing to play in goal if needed..... What's not to like.

I can't really judge whether this is a good signing or not because I can't recall having seen the lad play before, but Neal Ardley's assessment of what we've been missing sounds spot on and if Jim O'Brien is capable of giving us that, then we should improve. He's certainly played enough games in his career to suggest he's been a first-team level player wherever he's gone.

Plus, if you're looking to add a bit more aggression to your team, you generally can't go wrong signing a Scot. As Bill Shankly said:

"If you’ve got three Scots in your side, you’ve got a chance of winning something. If you’ve got any more, you’re in trouble!"

I wish I could make some useful comment re J.O'B but to be honest I can't remember much about him. Getting too old & lazy, unobservant, and -excuse- we have an even worse player turn-over rate up here at Ross than Notts.

Still, if he has the hard-working, battling attributes that I've read, it's exactly what we need. +VE!

Not like most to get excited before a ball is even kicked. Rewind back to July and the same comments were being branded.
Let’s hope he is what we have missed.

To get rave reviews about effort and fight from three previous clubs fan's, his interview and what others have said, I think he's very going to add to the squad

You say that but I remember most people thinking we needed a dominant central midfielder if O'Connor didn't re-sign. In the event, we got Vaughan.

This is Notts County, if he’s as useful as reports suggest he is odds on to get injured on Saturday and be out for the rest of the season.
