    Gingerist!

One mistake and your out, seems very draconian, and smacks of being unfair.

This is nothing to do with pc nonsense. It is just straight offensive.

So sack for one mistake but don’t sack for numerous breaches of BBC values?
It does not breach impartialty. Packham can say what he wants. Its up to bbc as an organisation and other presenters to put forward the altetnatives.

Is his excuse that he thought he was portraying ANY royal or any royal baby regardless of their heritage as a chimp? In other words he doesn't like Royals and completely missed the racial slur element of what he did

Danny Baker is meant to be an astute, sharp presenter which us probably why he's paid so much so it,s a little hard to believe he missed the correlation.

I agree with some people on her that what acceptable when poking fun is a bit selective at times. As someone has said Gingerism is ok, Northerners ok, middle class ok.
Maybe we are too sensitive at times

Agree flour, in his attempt to have a dig at the royals he inadvertently made a racist slur. With what i know about Danny Baker I would not have put him down as a racist but he has dropped a clanger here in his attempt to have a go at the Royals. Not his finest hour methinks.

Its only how you perceive it I think it was intended to be a joke and that’s the way I see it. Why are you getting your knickers in a twist over something that doesn’t even concern you?

Has any-one considered chimpanzees' feelings in all this?

Perception exactly. Did anyone ever perceive that the PG Tips adverts were intended to portray black people as stupid removal men, ignorant Tour de France spectators, simple road workers....etc? Conversely, I don't think anyone every perceived that fans throwing bananas at black players were doing it because they thought they were hungry.

Just looking at John Barnes at the Liverpool game and it looks like he ate ‘em all.

I'm sure that black players get abuse as "weighty" players get who ate all the pies abuse and goal keepers get comments about their wives taking it up the back passage.

What gets me though is why this is apparently a problem for Sterling and Rose but doesn't seem to be a problem for Rashford and Walcott?

Is it an issue with " we know it winds you up" rather than true racism?
