I had little or no interest in this match tonight, but if I had to choose I would have liked to see Tottingham to win it.

And it was even more of a bore garbage fest for me the other night when it was Arsenal & Chelsea in the other Euro club Final. A Final between 2 English clubs btw, who had about 2 or 3 proper English players on the pitch out of 22!.
You could always knock the scousers from pillow to post for me , nobody on here will stop you .

The problem you have of course and I include Jules in this is that the Hillsborough disaster was proven to be no fault of the Liverpool fans , it's now a fact .

I ain't going to argue about their part in the Heysel Stadium disaster other than that could have happened during those times to many many clubs .

You do realise even today our own fans are some of the worst in english football given the arrests and banning orders , we just don't have the same profile fortunately .

I made the mistake Animal some years ago of saying the word 'victimpool' in a public bar somewhere in Leeds. And my feet didnt touch the ground as everybody and his dog wanted to argue that comment, even though can you believe, none of them werent even Liverpool fans or even scousers!.
And I tried to make my comments here on England Mad some years ago with a proper scouse Liverpool fan, and he went totally apesh*it didnt he!. I dared to and tried to disagree with him over something, and I got called every insult under the sun lol. And he even accused me of being a Sun newspaper lover (even though I dont even read the bloomin Sun paper).

I’m also not going to debate the fact that two of the biggest “man made disasters” involving deaths at a football match
in recent history involving football just happened to involve Livepool supporters. As you say, that’s FACT.
    But.
It’s a FACT that we have no reported incidents of football violence related deaths involving our fans in recent history.
“The Heysel disaster could have happened to any club in that era”. ..... decaying stadia etc..... but we all went to the grounds, and came away ( fortunatey) unscathed.
It’s a fact that the two Highest death tolls in football in recent times (Fire related excepted) involved fans of a particular club. You won’t debate Heysel....because you can’t defend the Scouse, and we all know they are never to blame for owt.

I don’t want to fall out with anyone on here about the scum that are Red Scousers . We all entitled to have our own views. I’ve seen them, and suffered at their hands. It’s my right to express my belief..... just as you express your unfaltering belief in the pit strikes, Labour, hating Sheffield Wednesday and loving the Trade unions.

    We agree to differ.

Anything regarding Liverpool fans is pretty much a taboo on here, I personally don't like them , had run ins myself with that lot , Whist we have to accept what the courts decision was ! I still don't understand why the hundreds or thousand that travelled to Hillsborough on that tragic day without tickets , for such an High Profile Cup Tie , have had no blame attached to them ? Plenty of them have blood on their hands too , it's the innocents who died and their families I think of , not the ones who shouldn't have been there with no tickets, and hoping to be a smart arse getting in for nowt , they have been like this for decades, always, then moan when they get their arses kicked in Rome and the Rest of Europe

I'm not going to defend Heysel Jules because you can't , my point was that football fans around that time all behaved in a similar fashion , had Man Utd , Chelsea , West Ham etc etc played Juventus that night in Brussels the same thing probably would have happened given the organisation and the decaying stadium .

The two disasters involving Liverpool were two entirely different things .

The victims of Hillsborough and their families suffered the most horrendous injustice for nearly 3 decades , smeared , tarnished and cover ups .

That's never reight Jules in my book .

The thing is if you attended the 1989 4th round cup tie at Stoke City you would have seen and experienced the very same events unfolding with our fans , thankfully minus the tragedy .

5k reds crammed in to a side terrace woefully inadequate for the numbers who made the trip that day .

It was frighteningly overcrowded , you couldn't move an inch , reds fans arrived late that day too and a gate was opened to let the fans in and ease the congestion outside the turnstiles .

It was absolutely horrific having to stand there in those circumstances and know you had little control over your own welfare .

It would have only taken a crush barrier to have given way for a tragedy to occur .

Imagine someone years later after the deaths of a dozen reds fans that day calling us out as Victim ley .

    How would you feel ?

I was there at Stoke that day. Frightening. An incident I remember well. Some 2hat tried picking my wallet in the crush when the gates were opened and both myself, father and two mates had not choice but to go with the flow as people from behind pushed.
Dad said his feet never touched the ground from the gates opening to getting on the terrace. . Personally I’d have missed the start willingly rather than experience the pushing from behind.
The pushing was from BEHIND, Someone was pushing, don’t think it was the Police. Most definitely our fans.

Imagine then too the Thatcher government and it's minions smearing our fans as drunks , hooligans who pyssed on the dead bodies and stole their wallets .

Imagine the authorities using the miners strike as an angle to tarnish us as violent and an underclass mentality and back up their rhetoric .

When the truth is they were the ones who fecked up and caused the loss of life .

The Stoke away tie , What started off as a good away day soon turned sour, after having refreshments in the Railway Hotel Buxton , we made our way to the Victoria Ground , arriving just after 2 , looked ike thousands outside , all trying to get into 2 turnstyles , stewards /Police were asked by many to open other tturnstyles up , No was the answer ," you'll be in on time " well afta 3 we finally got in , jam packed , high fencing, blinding sunshine , pitch at eye level , all not what you need , not helped by the Reds scoring early goals and an excitable away following, not sure any gates were opened or extra tturnstyles , but that was one scary afternoon in the Potteries , one i hope never to witness again ,
