Try contributing to thread without mentioning this or Dominic Ball, Kenny effing Jacket or Alan f*cking Stubbs and people might actually listen to what you say.
    With love TLC.
or that time Yates came on against Leeds.

Towner - which is a shame I liked Towner!
But as you say you're a "lovechild" which by definition says it all really.

It's others and your good self that bring up the past. Anyway - the club's history is pertinent

What makes you think I don't like PW?

    Love him to bits!

The subject is "Management". And all my comments are very much concerned with that subject (and players).

Your rebuke is ill informed and does not constitute a contribution to the OP where mine very much does!

Sensational analysis considering your punchline is:

"People might actually listen to what you say"

    Now that is ironic !

Decision making processes and misplaced loyalties to certain players put the club in jeopardy. The Wood & Yates reference is related to "Manager" and "Player" decisions that contributed directly to our relegation. Never 100% because who knows what could happen in a match but these two are pretty shocking examples.

The fact that Wood was hooked off just after he was left for dead chasing his man (that had just skinned him) into our penalty area towards our goal. The "hooking off" told the whole story!

The Yates at Leeds is pertinent because Yates was statuesque as a Leeds player removed the ball from between his feet and ran towards the goal and Leeds scored and we lost. Yates was still stood - feet planted with his head in his hands. During Leeds celebrations. (Not fair to the lad - he's not good enough - but PW thinks he is - he did that match)

I was about 20m from both incidents and was furious at both.

I trust that Warne should have learned by these two most obvious mistakes. But football management is not tested in league one as keenly as the championship so "progress" must be tempered by the league we're now in.

Now that was "Management" and "Player" oriented enough for you?

But you ain't listening are you!

Look Towner - I love Warnsey to bits and that's precisely why I didn't want him to get the job ( he's too close and NOT a natural hardnosed managar). And it's precisely why the club wanted him because he's a nice bloke and a fans favourite.

But he is the manager of a professional football team so it's the glorious 12th as far as football managers go.

Some on here will appreciate the term "Horses for courses". We'll for me PW chose his career because it suited him - his call up was forced upon him but he's not a natural killer. He's an enthusiastic amateur (ok a football guy) but we need the best we can get - the whole PW thing is an experiment - and we are witnesses to just that - an experiment.

For me relegation was the termination point of that experiment. Now another full pre season in a crap league hoping Warne comes top of his class but even then book learning is never a substitute for experience (natural basic instinct). His experience is of course growing but it now includes two relegations.

Warne is a good fit for the club in its current stage of development.

He's popular with the fans, he's relatively cheap compared to "name" managers, he loves the club, and he's enthusiastic maybe a little eccentric at times.

He's learning the manager's trade, he will make mistakes, the key is not to repeat them.

We know that fitness is a strong feature of his coaching but tactics is a weak point.

He will get better but in my view he has to do two things:-

    1. Distance himself from the players, he's not their mate he's their manager
    2. Don't try to cover everything, employ coaches to fill the gaps in expertise.

Next season will be a testing one for PW, get off to a bad start and the knives will be sharpened. Hopefully he won't supply the sharpening block by playing 4-5-1 at home.

"Do you just copy and paste this into every thread now or do you actually bother to type it out every time"

As the discussion developes - so does the "argument". Some posters demand more detail than others.

Another pre-season starting - for me some lessons have been learned by the management team (perhaps). Last season - still sore but gone - everyone will have their own thoughts on relegation.

Off on holiday so large break from the riggers of being a Rotherham fan for a while.

As for repetition - it's rife on football boards - we are talking one club one manager - one set of players - repetition is inevitable.

Those of you without sin cast the first stone....as someone famously said.

I wish you would only talk about one manager, you seem to have an obsession with another one who left nearly three years ago. Maybe try looking forward instead of back?

Stubbs was crap on par with George Kerr and Cusack. I am so pleased we sacked him when we did or we would have gone straight thru league 1 last time.He not only produced a crap team with crap tactics he alienated the fans from the club which Warney has repaired bless him. If I wanted to employ someone to sabotage the club at that time it would have been him.

In short he couldn't lace Warne's boots.

    Roly - just rubbish !

Do your own research beyond club propaganda and infantile hatred of mob rule. There's a "football" story in that subject if you care to look for it. Don't tempt me to educate you with the facts lol. I would be wasting my time according to my assessment of your post - but out of respect to the board and time limitations I'll refrain.

Have a very nice day !
