Its a decent point Grist. I don't think sport would escape. Makes sense to have footy more localised. We used to have regional leagues didn't we? It wouldn't harm us to go without a pie and a pint as well. In fact we would b e healthier for it. I would vote for you to be minister for sport in an world saving govt.

No agree Grist a reasonable point about hypocritical Royals. Yes it has been highlighted by the groups you mention but this subject needs to be nagged at us till something is seriously done about it.

The likely outcome of something being done about it roly is to increase taxes on travel, fuel,red meat, etc etc which will not affect the wealthy but will largely impact on those least able to afford it

I’ve made the same point before. Man City and Liverpool travelled to Wembley for the charity shield the 2 cities are 20 miles apart.

F1 is even worse. Different country each week to drive petrol cars round in circles for 3 days.
