Anyone who knows me or of me via this message board should already know that I have been playing guitar for many years, and I'm quite getting the hang of it by now. In fact, I'm a total music nut in general, my passion being music starting from maybe 1964 and the Stones, Kinks, Moody Blues and The Who, through to the Indie / Britpop era of the mid to late 90's, and Blur and Oasis, via The Jam, The Clash and Blondie.
Anyway, that is irrelevant. I am also very interested in the history of Rotherham. To this end, I have created a website called Rotherham Archive, www.rotherham-archive.co.uk, which some like minded individuals may appreciate. The are over 2,500 pictures of Rotherham in days gone by. The bulk of the images were given to me by the family of Colin Leonard, who I never met, and who was an avid photographer, with the express intention of presenting them via a website, which I have done. I did keep getting comments from some idiot in the Clifton area, yes I did have his ip address, that he had posted the pictures on Facebook, therefore they were his,and demanded a credit. I replied I assume that you are Colin Leonard, and yes you have been credited. Didn't hear anything else.
The website has been there for maybe four years, but what you see now is my latest makeover of the site, and I have finally got around to embarking on a little search engine optimistation, which is my day job. Any feedback would be appreciated and also you can submit any contributions via the email button to the left of each page. Anything is welcome. Hopefully it can evoke some memories for you fellow wrinkles.
My second plea involves the demise of "the other site". KR, some may know what that means, aka exetermiller hasn't renewed his hosting package and the site is no more. It is an ex site. That may be good news to most, because I always found KR to be a total conceited nob who had his head stuck so far up his own harris that he hasn't seen daylight for years, but there were some decent on there. gwru was given a sine die ban from here, I understand by frogmiller. Is he annoying? YES. Does he repeat the same thing day after day after day? YES. Does he think, as an ex-steelworker that he knows more about the game than Guardiola and Warne put together? Yes. But, I find him hilarious. My days are not as rich without him. So what do you reckon frog? Cut him a little slack, allow him back and treat him, and his opinions, as totally harmless yet amusing.
